5.0 out of 5 stars Easy, quick chapters separating dressings by vinaigrettes
Finally: a guide to salad dressing which provides easy, quick chapters separating dressings by vinaigrettes, creamy and low-fat dressings and which packs in a wide variety of toppings, from the classic Blue Cheese and Caesar to Maple Thyme Vinaigrette and Creamy Lemon Yogurt. No color photos in Salad Dressing 101, but these very simple dressing recipes don't really need...

3.0 out of 5 stars better dressings out there
I was disappointed to see that most of the recipes were credited to other cookbooks. Guess I'd expected something a bit more original. Having said that, I will say that there seems to be an impressive array of dressings, and there are several that I am interesting in trying. I ordered this through a third-party seller, and the service was excellent.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good book for salad ideas, July 20, 2008

This review is from: Salad Dressings 101 (Paperback)
I really like this book as it has given me several ideas to make my own dressing. My partner had a heart attack about 4 months ago and we both love to eat salads on a daily basis. Finding good dressings that had healthy fats and lower in calories is hard, especially if you like to try a wide variety of dressings. This book (along with my local olive oil and vinegar store) have been a wealth of information in making new and interesting dressings that are healthy and delicious!

Happy eating!

I received this recipe book a few weeks ago; haven't made any yet but I've read through all of the vinaigrette recipes (my favorite) and they look fantastic, I can't wait to try them! This book is just what I was looking for.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's just too easy, February 19, 2011
This review is from: Salad Dressings 101 (Paperback)
My friend gave me this book years ago, when it had a slightly different name. I recently dug it out and have pledged to never buy bottled dressing again! It's just too easy to make your own, especially if you have one of those Magic Bullet type blenders. The directions are simple, the ingredients are realistic, and you might even get a few ideas for dinner just leafing through it. If you are put off by the idea of ketchup or mayonnaise as an ingredient, then take your fancy chef ways elsewhere. Not to say there aren't some exotics here, such as Roasted Pepper Lime Vinaigrette with Lovage and Miso. It's just a small, handy book with a nice variety of ways to dress your salad. Of particular delight lately: Sweet Vidalia Onion Dressing and Spicy French.
