This isn't a good book - this is a GREAT book - OUTSTANDING - and there aren't that many great gardening books out there, especially salad gardens. OUTSTANDING illustrations photos and explanations. The chat on chickories is long and thorough. A full explanation of self-blanching vs. not celery - written in 1984 - seems just off the presses. The author is active and she has new books coming out.

Lots of pictures of different types of salad greens and recipes for
potato salad, an interesting and useful book I can recommend highly. Unfortunately the copy I got smells strongly of printing ink, so unpleasant I don't like to read it. If it didn't, maybe it would get another star... |
