5.0 out of 5 stars Controversial - Judge For Yourself, December 6, 2005
By
Samuel Clemens (New York, NY USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Salem Girls (Audio CD)
This is a very controversial release from Big D. People seem to love it or hate it. I think it's awesome. It's an experiment in reggae-dub, not the usual ska-punk Big D is known for. The title track is a Halloween song about the Salem Witch Trials, and the cd includes a dub remix of the song and an instrumental version with solos, as well as several other chilled out reggae-dub tracks. It's eery at times and soothing at times, and really shows off their instrumental capabilities. Some of the more brilliant moments happen in She's Lovely, Baby Don't Cry, and the dub remix of Salem Girls. But hey, judge for yourself, no one can seem to agree on it...
