I can't believe there aren't more reviews for this book. It's been a long time since I've read a book that has hooked me from page 1 and kept me glued all the way through. I have never written a review before so please bare with me
The story begins in Salem Town in the year 1690 when the h Bristol Adams is publicly whipped in the Town Square on orders by her puritan father for talking to a young man She is then sent to London to her puritan aunt..Aunt Pur turns out to be a surprise and delight. It's really hard to say too much without spoilers Bristol is called home because of her fathers death. She arrives back in Salem Town at the beginning of the Witch trials...I have never read a better account of what lead up to the trials. What ever you do don't miss this wonderful book and maybe you can write a better review

I used to live in Danvers MA (Old Salem Village), quite near to where all of the trouble took place. I was impressed with the quality of the research, and I loved the story, too.
