Salomon Men's Techamphibian 2 Water Shoe

This is my new favorite shoe. In the past few weeks, they have replaced all my other summer footwear besides dress shoes. The backing flops down for quick easy-on easy-off like clogs or flip flops. Otherwise, they are really easy to slip on and lace up with the quick lacing system. I wear them mostly without socks and had only the faintest odor after about a week. I hosed them down and they dried in an hour or two, and the smell is gone. Ive worn them to the beach, to the pool, while cutting grass, climbing trees, jogging, and playing basketball. somehow there doesn't seem to be any scuffing or wear on them. they have incredible grip even on wet surfaces. i got the komando/dark/camo color, and they look great with greys, browns, greens. They look good with everything I wear. A few nights ago it was really cold and I wore them with short black socks and they still looked/felt great. I feel so confident wearing these around- they keep me cool, comfortable, and in control of my movements. This is a great summer shoe because I feel like I can do any activity. I look back at how I used to wear flip flops and sandals for comfort in the summer, and how limited I would be if I had to do any kind of physical activity! Now I can plan a whole day at the beach and then dinner and drinks and then a walk on the boardwalk while only packing one pair of footwear, and still look stylish!

I had two prior pairs of Salomon Techamphibians which I've worn for more than 2 years each. I buy them because they breath so well and I have a problem with sweating between my toes in most shoes. I actually had to return the new pair I ordered through Amazon because the same nominal size as my last pair turned out to be almost 3/4 of an inch shorter than the old ones. Perhaps this is related to the "2" added to the model name, but I was not about to go through a series of try-ons by mail. These are a bit hard to find in stores, but I did find them and was able to find the right size the old fashioned way. The price was close enough that I bought them at the brick-and-mortar outlet. So, long-story-short, they seem to run a size or two small. Best to see them in person if you can find them. Otherwise, they are comfortable, durable, and great all-terrain shoes.

I purchased a pair of these in 2008, they were an orange color then. I traveled to Asia where I would be riding around on a motocross bike in some of the most demanding terrain for 3 weeks. I only used these shoes and they lasted the whole trip without blinking.

I used these shoes daily for walking, going to the beach, skateboarding, running and even to go to the shops. They are very versatile but also so durable. I have also been to the Philippines in 2010 for 6 months, swimming at the beach nearly everyday, riding on motorbikes and walking dirt roads. I have used these shoes in most situations when I go out as they breathe so well but look good too. I can then go swimming in them the next day or walk a trail. They are the ultimate travel show, especially to Asia and hot countries as you only need to bring one breathable, waterproof and versatile shoe.

I'm now going back to Asia and I'm amazed that these shoes are as good as they were when I bought them. Yes it's amazing and the reason why it has driven me to write my first Amazon review after many years of reading them. I'm now going to be buying another pair just so I can support them and have a different color to the ones I have now.

This is a great product. I bought it to use in waterfalls and the Salomon is really good for that purpose.

They're about a half size too small. That's my only issue. Overall, the shoes rock.

Ever buy a pair of shoes and then want to go out and get another pair right away so you will always have them? These are those shoes for me. I prefer to be barefoot or socked around the house & I run in Vibram 10 fingers (and have become spoiled by their lighter than air feel). These are super light and perfect for almost any activity I've tried them in. They won't be replacing my running shoes but they are my new warm weather all-around footwear of choice.

These are the best water shoes, the last pair my husband had lasted 4 years with alot of use, he wears them all the time because they are so comfortable.

These shoes are very comfortable. Love the tongue that hides the laces. Have yet to try them in the water. Only one problem with these shoes. There is an adjustable strap that goes around the back of the ankle. The strap has a plastic buckle. Only problem is the strap will not stay tightened, it becomes loose after wearing the shoes for a while. There needs to be a way to fasten the end of the adjustable strap so that it will remain tight. Either the plastic buckle needs to be replaced or the end of the strap needs to have a way to anchor it to the shoe. Like possibly a hole in the end of the strap with a series of round plastic nodules that the strap can fit over.

Other than the slipping strap the shoes are nice.

These shoes are pretty expensive and are advertised as water+running. However, they are rather uncomfortable to wear without socks, giving me blisters, so "water" is a no go. They are also narrow, have bad cushioning and get pretty loose because of the back strap, so running is not good either.

The Techamphibian 2 is a great product. I've worn mine on several fishing and camping trips. They dry out extreamly fast, and have an aggresive tread that won't let you down. Shoe looks to be built to last. That's what I expect from my Salomon gear. jw
