Lightweight, durable, and stable, the Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra 2 GTX Trail Running Shoe provides a supportive, comfortable running experience on any terrain. Utilizing Salomon's Sensifit technology, this trail runner offers a breathable mesh upper, 3D chassis, and rugged running Contagrip sole for improved traction on wet or muddy trails.
The XA Pro 3D Ultra 2 GTX features a breathable mesh upper that reduces heat and moisture inside your shoes. A lightweight dual density midsole provides cushioning, stability, and motion control to help correct overpronation.
Salomon's Sensifit technology cradles the upper instep, providing a precise and secure fit that promotes natural rolling motion from heel to toe.
The shoe's chevron Contagrip tread contains forefoot flex grooves and multidirectional lugs to provide extra traction when running on wet or muddy trails, while a 3D advanced chassis between the midsole and outsole enhances stability by reducing ankle strain and controlling flex. A mudguard and rubber toe cap protect from dampness and add stability.
The XA Pro 3D Ultra 2 GTX features breathable, waterproof Gore-Tex lining that reduces hot spots so your feet stay comfortable in warmer temperatures as well as in cold, wet conditions. An OrthoLite foam footbed keeps your feet cushioned to minimize friction as you run, while EVA in the heel provides extra cushion for heel striking.
The XA Pro Ultra 2 GTX has an asymmetric lacing system that lets you tighten laces in one pull for a customized fit. A gusseted tongue relieves lace pressure and keeps trail debris out of your shoe, while a lace pocket keeps laces secure and out of your way.

So far, so good. I ordered the 12 regular width (they don't make wide). I normally wear a 11.5 4E (American wide) in work boots, and 11.5 E in athletic shoes. Read morePublished 4 days ago by Tex503
This is my third pair of the Salomon XA 3D shoes. I love the fit, durability, and they've always kept my feet dry in wet conditions.Published 4 days ago by Stelios Marakis
These shoes seem very durable. As for comfort, it's pretty good now that I have broken them in. At first they seemed very still, especially in the sole. Read morePublished 5 days ago by Michael Crenshaw

It seems one might be bigger than the other. I will let them break in and see what I think. The left seems wider.
Maybe I have a funny shaped foot, but others have said these fit oddly and are very narrow. I'm 6'1", 250lbs, very active, and typically my shoes are too narrow. Read morePublished 10 days ago by Derek Griggs
