Top tier footwear. Not my only pair of Salomons as I wear their CrossMax and XR Mission trailrunners. This is my first foray into their boots. I have weak, "glass" ankles and these boots are just the thing for my next serious trek in the woods.. Work well with insoles too. A great fit for a women's boot. Fits perfectly in the heel area and not too tight in the forefoot. Relief that they are not heavy. No breaking them in either. Ready to go out of the box.

Love these boots! They were recommended by my daughter's friend (a Navy SEAL) as they are what he wears on duty. I got a great price from Amazon too. Excellent toe support, roomy for big socks but not too roomy if normal socks. Heel does not slip. Can be laced up tight on the bottom and looser around the ankles. Stays laced. Mine did not come back mud packed in spite of the fact that I was in a lot of mud while hiking and the boots provide amazing stability on uneven trails. Lightweight too. I bought two identical pairs!

I was looking for a pair of sturdy light weight boots and these fit the bill perfectly. I'm love the lacing system that allows me to adjust the foot and ankle tension separately. Very little break in needed.

Great boots and very comfortable but I was unable to wear them even with a thick cushioned sock. I have a smaller foot and needed to order a size smaller than my regular size. The toe box was very roomy which was nice but didn't support my foot and my heel did not lock into place but popped up with each step. These would have been great if only they fit.

I purchased my regular size, 7.5 and they fit perfectly with a pair of smartwool socks, which is the combo I wanted. The heel is narrow enough to keep my heel in place with the rest of the inside giving enough space so as not to pinch or burn the sole of my foot. The boot sole sticks out a little around the heel giving good balance and support especially walkng down hill (check out the pics on Amazon). My husband likes his, so I got a pair. He says they do the job but he switches to his Asolo Powermatics for backpacking and I agree on that. These are light but supportive to wear daily on our hilly farm in PA. They are flexible enough to bend down and garden! I'm very pleased and really appreciate the lacing system. They can be adjusted for tight support on the toes or ankles. I needed that flexibility for the variety of conditions in my working day. They stay laced as tightly as needed, too, no stopping to make adjustments. Great Amazon price!

A perfect hiking boot, it deserves all the great reviews. What I love the most is probably the lacing system. just a pull on each sides and it'll fitly tied to the bottom... and the ankle protection is excellent. Loving the brown color as well. Definitely best boot purchase I've ever made.

    Pros:
    Comfortable
    Waterproof
    Good grip on most surfaces
    Great lacing system
    Good ankle support

    Cons:
Grip gets dicey in muddy conditions
Takes extra waterproofing to make leather waterproof
Can get a bit warm in the boots in the summer
Not the quickest drying shoes in the world

These boots are very good. They are comfortable from the first day you use them. They are very waterproof. They will keep you dry up to you ankles, and pair them with some gaiters and you are well above that. These shoes have good grip and the toe box protection id really good. This boot is really good for defined paths and known trails, but I would seek a more rugged boot for exploring and going through heavy brush. There are light boots that only flaws are due to its nature of a light and fast boot. It works well enough as a backpacking boot but would use it for anything over 60 lbs because of the more aggressive 4d trail running footed. Try not to soak the boots on the inside because it can take a while to dry and make sure to take care and clean these boots to maintain its breathability and waterproof nature. I would recommend cleaning it and treating it from the beginning to get a good seal. The grip on these boots are good but don't make the mistake of believing that these boots will stop you from slipping completely, still use caution. All in all I love these boots. I will continue to sue them in the foreseeable future until I completely trash them.
