Thanks to Salomon's Advanced Chassis Technology design, this boot features increased sensitivity and power transmission over Salomon's former Prolink line, with the added benefit of reduced weight. The raised foot position inside the boot gives the X Wave increased power and maximum edge angles. Salomon's 3-D buckle allows you to reposition the angle of the instep buckle to suit your comfort and skiing levels. The X Wave 9.0 features special lateral inserts that work in conjunction with a carbonlink arm between the cuff and shell, reinforcing the lateral transmission while allowing for the addition of a softer plastic cuff for leg envelopment and consistent flex. The cuff itself is specifically designed with a lower rear support and a soft spoiler to adapt to women's calves. I have these boots and I love them. I rated them 4 stars just because I always feel there is room for improvement. I still experience some pain and some days are better than others. For aggressive skiing, and for women who weigh more than 110 pounds, these boots are great.

Boots are all about fit. I urge you to get measured at a ski shop and DO NOT buy a boot bigger than they measure you. Often times when people buy ski boots, they are trying to avoid being in pain all the time. The BIGGEST mistake is not being fit properly and therefore causing yourself pain. IF YOU BUY BOOTS TOO BIG YOU WILL CAUSE YOURSELF ALL SORTS OF PAIN.
