A must have for Salsa collectors!!!,

The sounds of Orquesta De La Luz are unbelievable. When I first heard them in 1991, I thought they were from Puerto Rico or the Dominican Repbublic. Never had I heard such a rich sound. They were so convincing that you would have never thought they were Japanese. When Nora and former "jefe" Gen Ogimi had this idea of a salsa band, all Japanese, they were in for a surprise. They became so popular this first album struck gold or even platinum. This album is a definite collector. Get it now while you can.

I am a firm believer that salsa is a pure music from the heart. This band has more salsa in their little finger than most salsa bands I've heard. Being a 54 year old young man, I have heard my share of live and recorded music. De La Luz is a solid salsa band.

Beautiful CD - a classic!,

I purchased this CD when it first came out (not from Amazon) andstill listen to it non-stop! Love Nora especially - hope that she and all the members of her super talented orquesta are super rich and super happy as payment for the joy they've brought to me through their music. Love it especially when Nora sings Japanese !!! And what a surprise to learn that the very best songs were written by Nora herself (in Spanish!). All of the band's CDs - not just this one - are the most prized in my collection and are most highly recommended. They are all well produced, of high quality, and chock full of a good range of salsa music. Unfortunately for those who have not yet jumped on the bandwagon, the prices have started to increase tremendously. Still, they are a bargain at any price! |
