These guys are bringing Salsa back to it's raw uncut roots and doing a wonderful job at it. Think of younger versions of Hector Lavoe, R I P, Frankie Ruiz, R I P the list is endless. For a lover of classic Salsa this is most definately worth checking out. You won't be disappointed.

BUY IT BUY IT BUY IT!!! I can't stop listening to this CD. These types of salsa albums are worth every dollar you spend. This album matches up with the best of the new salsero groups, Spanish harlem orchestra, King Bongo, Jimmy Bosch, Wayne Gorbea, just to name a few. I get a kick when people ask me which CD i'm playing when I DJ parties. Perfect for the salsa dura lovers and on2 dancers!!

I completely agree with the previous review. Thiis is an up and coming group and defenitly worth the buy. With all of the salsa eomantica floating around(which is still enjoyable), this is a fresh and welcomed album from an incredible group. This really is salsa dura. I am a huge follower of the salsa scene and since I purchased this album, it has quickly become one of my favorites. I can't stop listening to it. If you are a true salsero, you have to have this album. I am putting my hopes on this gropo to bring the ressurection of truee salsa for our future.Que Viva La Salsa!

The one thing that has not been described by many other reviewers is how raw and uncut, yet at the same time polished this CD is. They messed with the sound someway, because it sort of sounds like it was recorded in an old school studio. But this is not a bad thing, as the trombones sound more like Willie Colon, and the Congas more like Ray Barreto than in most salsa nowadays. From the very first note I knew this CD was going to be something original, by the end I was hooked and played it constantly.

But do not be mistaken in thinking that this is salsa for old people. This is a young band with young musicians who successfully bring a message for a young crowd. Their message ranges from the music itself, the struggle to get ahead in life, and of course love. It even has some old school songs that go like a short story. Get it now.

Recommend this album to all who love Latin music, nice to listen to, nice to dance to. Top marks to the musicians.

Salsa con Conciencia
Every song on this CD is very bailable- for the uninitiated that means danceable with a capital D. If you love Salsa this is a must have. This is thei first CD under this name but there is another CD under their old name: Los Calientes Del Son. Both are excellent dance CDs although this one is much more polished. The vocals are solidly mature and the arrangements much more 'tight'. The boys are definitely on the right track and I can't wait for their next CD.
Wish I lived in new York where I could catch them live almost every weekend. For now, I have to hope they come back to their old home in Baton Rouge once in a while.

I agree with the other reviewers that this is a good salsa CD. I just got the CD last week and since this is the first time I've heard of this band I was surprised how good they are. Good salsa sounds and beat and you have to listen to the lerics because they are awesome. Buy it, you'll like it, if your really a salsa person who appreciates good mucis and lerics.
