Being a novice with two left feet, I needed a video that covered the basic steps in a clear and concise manner, but I also wanted a video that would show more intricate steps once I had mastered the basics. This tape was exactly what I needed! Susana Domingues clearly demonstrates the basic Colombia salsa steps as well as showing errors that are common to beginners (very helpful). After the basics, she covers different turns and moves done with a partner. If you want to learn authentic Colombian salsa, this is the video to get. Highly Recommended!

Hi
I wanted to take this time to thank the makers of Salsa Columbia Style.

Finally I found a video that teaches salsa the way it is danced all over the world. The columbian style salsa is international and when travelling have discovered most women dance with the same movement and technical style that I learned in this video.
It was easy and methodical and with a couple of hours every few days my progression was steady and easy to remember. I have met so many great people in my latest travels because I could dance the basic salsa. Thank you for a video that makes it easy to learn a style that is universal.
I highly recommend this video to any man or women who like me has two left feet, now these feet move and keep me out of my seat. Feel free to contact me for verification or enquires my email is ejp@shaw.ca

Scincerely Eddy

I love my Salsa Columbian Style video! Ever since I got it, I can't get enough of it! It has helped my dancing in ways I cannot measure. The video is very organized and easy to follow. It builds up gradually to harder steps but you don't feel intimidated to try more, since Susana breaks down every step so clearly. I've even learned some steps being the lead from watching the video, to help my girlfriends out with new steps that they were learning! We always have the best time when we do the video, it's great exercise too!!

This is a great training film for those of us who like to travel. Mexico and other countries do a Cumbia style dance and not a Mambo style that is popular here. The film shows the beginner how to get started and to actually be dancing at the end.
The photography and editing is excellent. Thanks Susana for this film and please continue with advanced versions.

I've been trying to learn to dance salsa calena for about a year with very little help from the internet. I live in South America so you would think finding instruction for Colombian salsa would be easy. However as some people probably know already, Colombian style salsa isn't as widespread as the other styles although it's very strong in Cali. I've had friends look for instructional DVDs in the city of Cali itself with no luck. This is the only DVD on the market, so I was so thrilled when it also turned out to be very well done. The footwork of Colombian style salsa is very different from any other kind, and I found it totally overwhelming trying to piece it all together from clips on youtube. This DVD is such a treasure, not only does Susanna break down the moves so that this technical and fast dance becomes approachable, but she speaks cleary and explains every move. I haven't practiced the entire thing yet but already I would highly reccommend it to anyone wanting to learn Colombian style salsa.

This video looks like it was shot in the 80s

and its iffy (hit or miss) on dvd players.

It's just a disc - forget the packaging and DVD box set looking thing in the picture. That must be the VHS. Instead you get the DVD a cheap clear plastic jewelcase covered in platic wrap. Home style.

Which is no big deal if the video was 20$ instead of $50. It's priced like a premiere premium A+ top quality product, not a geto self released product.

I may return it due to the iffy playback. Seems like a DVD encoding issue, the menu keeps going and fights the image when the video starts - causing the image to constantly rip and pixelate.

Aside from the value and tech issues the vid is decent intro.

Nice basic steps for a foundation. youtube has tutorials for Pachanga, Boogaloo, and footwork. SO this is a nice complimentary piece. Exactly what I was hoping for.
