A cool and fresh soundtrack for a cool and fresh movie. Listen to Margarita and Puerto Rico, the best tracks of the album. This sountrack also includes great salsa performers like Grupo Niche, with their hit Cali Pachanguero. The song by Robi (not Robby!!) Rosa, "Under my skin", is great too....... A great cd for every salsa lover.

what kind of movie soundtrack is this? there is only one salsa song in it and still is very poorly done. the rest are music from the 50s and 60s, doo wop, rock and roll, hillbilly , country, what the heck. very disappointing. how can somebody title this movie "salsa" boggles my mind. this movie should be entitled "smorgasbord". don't buy this CD, it's a waste of money if you are looking for salsa or latin music. very deceiving.

The movie Salsa is such a great movie and it is no wonder why the soundtrack is so great too. I can't get bord of watching one and listening to the other over and over so many times in a row. The different beats of all the songs, make you want to get up and dance. On the soundtrack there are so many great songs. Songs such as Margarita, Cali Pachanguero, Your Love, Good Lovin', Under My Skin, I Know, and Puerto Rico. Personally, my top 2 favorites are I Know, and Puerto Rico. The beats are just awsome. It's a great salsa soundtrack. I would recommend this soundtrack (and the movie) to anyone that loves salsa music and to those who have seen the movie but has not yet gotten the soundtrack on CD. To me, it's a must have in any CD collection.

This is an exceptional example of entertaining, high-quality music. Outstanding performances by Wilkins, Robi Rosa.

Every song is good. I am such a fan of this movie it was mandatory to own the CD as well. Whenever I hear the songs I think of the exact part of where it is in the movie. This is a good Cd to listen to in your car or even when you work out.

I love this CD. It is one of the best movie soundtrack out there. Also, great movie. five stars all the way.

I remember this movie when it first came out. The songs in this movie were great to dance to when I was younger. So I had to have the soundtrack.

I saw this film when it came out in the '80's. The plot wasn't much, as I recall, but the energy of the dance scenes and the soundtrack were unforgettable. I bought the soundtrack on cassette from our local record store (remember those?)that same week and played it for years until it finally disintegrated in my last tape deck.

When I ran across mention of it on CD on the internet, I decided to buy it in this new format and I wasn't disappointed. The music is still fresh and exciting. Salsa purists may sniff, but hey, I simply listen to what I like, and I like this. The only song I always skipped is the one that most people buy the soundtrack for, the love theme by Laura Brannigan. I didn't like it in the '80's and I still don't like it. Every other song is a keeper, though, and I bet you'll find yourself humming snatches of "Margarita" or "Chicos y Chicas" at random moments after you give them a listen!
