THIS DOUBLE CD SET IS A SMASH HIT. ONE LISTEN TO SONGS SUCH AS: "IT'S GOOD FOR THE SOUL", "SALSOUL RAINBOW", AND "TANGERINE" AND YOU TOO WILL BE HOOKED. THERE IS A GREAT MIX OF INSTRUMENTAL AND VOCAL TRACKS. THIS BRINGS US ALL BACK TO THE GOOD DAY'S OF WHIRLING STRINGS AND WAILING WOODWINDS. YOU MUST PURCHASE THE COMPILATION; YOUR MONEY WILL BE WELL SPENT!

What a wonderful album! Listen to Salsoul Hustle, e.g., and you know what I mean. Great phillydisco sound! Some tracks can be named "classic". Each one is a masterpiece of its own. The album stands for the genious of the Salsoul Orchestra, its musicians and, of course, the composers. If you like the phillydisco sound and / or if you like great music, Anthology is a must for you!

This CD has some really fine sound of philly tracks including of course "Tangerine," "Salsoul Rainbow," "Salsoul Hustle," and "Tale of Three Cities," among others. Unfortunately, though, this collection has not been remastered and the playback is vinyl quality. What a pity! I was happy to hear these oldies again but the sound quality made me sad.
