Book Description

1998
Sando and Hedda are running for their lives. They've broken out of Sydney, a walled city by 2075, and into an Australia dominated by civil strife, rising salt levels, a ravaged ozone layer and daily temperatures of fifty-seven degrees. Their flight to this salt-encrusted otherworld forces them to confront its unimaginable inhabitants, and their love for each other - and for the truth - is put to the test in a gripping battle against an ancient human evil with a new and terrifying face.

More About the Author

Gabrielle Lord is one of Australia's bestselling crime writers for adults. Following the Conspiracy 365 series, she already has plans for another three adult novels and two more young adult books. Research is everything, Gabrielle says. 'Out of my contacts with experts (who are always far too modest to describe themselves that way) I get not only the fine-tuning necessary for today's savvy readers, but also wonderful incidents and images that enrich and enlarge my books.'

3.0 out of 5 stars Australian SF Reader, July 31, 2007
This review is from: Salt
There is some pretty severe global warming in this book. No water, no cool. The outside temperature in Australia has climbed well into the 50s, on average, and serious precautions must be taken when going outside.

The two main characters, a man and a woman, end up doing just that, going on the run to try and get to the heart of a conspiracy.
