"This collection is arguably Brian's most mature and thoughtful one yet. His writing -- always excellent -- is here among the most painstakingly exact he's ever produced. He never gives into the temptation to use traditional genre tomes and, in fact, knows how to use your expectations of those tomes against you..." -- Gary A. Braunbeck, from the introduction

This review is from: Salt Water Tears (Paperback)
This is an intelligent, thought-provoking, entertaining collection of short stories. So much so it was impossible to read with anything else going around you, they demand your complete and utter attention.

Hopkins is skilled at pulling the reader into the story and wringing every bit of imagination and energy out of the reader. These stories are not for the weak or timid. They are to be read around campfires and under blankets with flashlights. They are to be read and reread.

If you haven't read Hopkins before, start with this collection. You'll be hooked.
