Who would have guessed how important salt was in the formation of the world and the various centers of human population? It makes a lot of sense, but I was dumbfounded. It is a wonderful and excellent book/audiobook.

I loved this book because of the way it went from historical, to political, to dietary, etc. There's something for everyone in this book. It doesn't become ponderous on any one aspect of the subject of salt. It matched nicely with my 'Homer Simpson' kind of wandering mind in that way. It's a very entertaining book, the reader does a fine job, and it's lots of fun to listen to in the audio version.
