I purchased this for my hubby. He was a little concerned with being able to read the weight over his belly, but if he stands up straight - no problem! Also, the weight read-out does stay on the scale for a bit after he gets off it. Very accurate, and clean looking. Would recommend to anyone looking for a scale that exceeds the 300-lb. limit of most scales.

I needed a bathroom scale that would be very easy to read. This Salter XL reading shows on the dial with big, black numbers. Better yet, it is great to step on the large platform (13'X13'), a good safety feature because I have a balance issue. The reading also lasts several second once I dismount the scale. I am a delighted with my purchase on Amazon and will tell my friends about the Salter XL. The scale is very attractive. It would also make a good gift for the hard to please.

Nice big numbers, large base to stand on. It is relatively consistant, though like every digital scale I have seen it depends you being able to stand in the same spot and being perfectly still. (I tend to sway on my feet a bit which confuses it.) Great scale and very reasonably priced! I would purchase again.

9037 Scales have quit working. I've worked for three days to get a new battery inserted. I've left messages on a strange web site. There is no telephone number to call for help. Finally I took the sales to an electronic store and got them to help me put the battery in. I understand the refund will be pro rated according to use. I've had the scales since January 2010. I'll check on the return. The worst thing is there is no telephone number to call and the web site is a joke. I emailed but have not received an answer.

I follow Weight Watchers and weigh in from home every Friday morning, so I need an accurate scale. This one is not it. I could get on 10 times and get 10 different readings. I am in the market for a better scale.

I weighed myself the 1st time and then thought I would weigh myself a minute or so later. The weight changed. In fact I stood on the scale 5 times over a few minutes and received 5 different weights with a 5 pound range.

I bought this scale because of the good reviews on Amazon. I have now ordered this scale twice. The first I returned because the battery did not work (the black cord was detached from the lithium battery on arrival). The second I returned when it gave me readings that varied by 5 pounds in the space of 5 minutes. As someone for whom a pound or two is significant, I need a scale that will give me consistent feedback.

Handsome product. Extremely readable display. Goes down to tenths of a pound. Uses Lithium batteries--an excellent choice. It has two problems which seem to be common to digital scales: if your weight is not centered evenly over the scale, it sometimes gives an ERROR message, and sometimes just gives you the wrong weight. Handling unequal distribution over the top should not require a mainframe. I think the manufacturers of these digital scales should take them all back to the lab, and return them to the market when ANY distribution of weight over the top is acceptable and handled properly. The other flaw is these scales require a hard flat surface. They don't work on carpets or rugs, nor on uneven floors. Again, bring them back when the design is finished!!

scale is great but the battery was dead when i received it i had to buy a new battery.
