The ePods digital video camera and portable entertainment system can record high quality digital video and easily transfer it to your computer for viewing and editing. It can also take high quality digital still pictures (up to 6 megapixels with with software interpolation). Listen to MP3 music files with the provided earphones or through the internal speaker.

You can record and listen to voice memos on the go, or use the ePods for live video conferences with your friends and family over the internet. Store movies, photos, songs, voice memos, and other documents directly on the 128MB built in memory as well as on optional memory expansion cards (up to 1 GB using SD or MMC memory cards).

I bought this device in July of 2005 and I must say I was impressed with the picture quality and I like fact you can change the megapixel range from 2 all the way up to 6MP.

I have not used the web cam function on it and probably won't because I will be using a separate webcam for permannent placement on my laptop. I primarily just want to take pictures and occasionaly shoot videos.

Kudos on the picture quality of pictures taken in pitch darkness, the flash brought the pictures up better than I expected.

The settings are easy to navigate and use and it is pratically idiot-proof for a child to use as well.

The downside of this device is the voice recording playback quality...it's mousey and can easily be drownd out by a crowd of 10 people talking at the same time.

If there will be another model in the future I hope that won't be an issue; also there was a mistake on the tech details in this item's description on amazon.com. It was stated this device can use AAA batteries but that is not true at all.

It has it's own battery pack, a 3.7V 900mAh Li-on to be exact; its life span between charges when using the camera to it highest megapixel quality really drains the battery quickly, insetead the use of high capacity AA or AAA batteries or photo batteries is a necessity, otherwise this device would have prompted a perfect score from me.

The amazon.com specs also stated that the max sd card capacity it can handle is 512mb...I don't know if that is true but if so it should be upgraded to using 2gigs in a future model.

My family absolutely loves this product. My wife likes to carry to use it as a digital camcorder. It is really great! Before, in order to import camcorder shots to our PC, we needed to use our DV Camcorder and import video through firewire. A terrible hassle. With this device, everything is so easy! My wife just use the camera, remove the memory card and plug it in her laptop. No need to edit or extract video like I did before with DV camcorders.

It is also great I can use this device for digital pictures, MP3, MPEG4 videos and even portable storage. Digital pictures seems a little blurry using the digital zoom. Just avoid using it, and you will be fine.

The product arrived with in the specified time frame and was exactly as as advertised. The only problem is there is no help desk or phone number to call for questions. I had difficulty using the MP3 player as it uses a different file extension (.WAV) instead of .WMA. I would have been nice to ask for conversion information or something. But this issue may be my techincal ability. The product was for my daughter's 13th birthday and I wish we could have had the MP3 player working.
