Format: Audio CD
This album is very interesting and very good at that. Part trance, downtempo, trip hop, and mixed with Violin. The violin sounds great, treated with effects such as delay, it really blends well with the electronic beats which are very hypnotic and let the violin weave its melody without stepping on it. Fans of Dead Can Dance, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, and Sound Tribe Sector 9 should like this disc as well as fans of ambient music. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

There are a number of people who play violin. Many of them use electrics, mostly as a poor substitute for an acoustic. Mr Murphy is one of very few who treat it as it's own unique instrument and he is not afraid to experiment with any and all effects, yet his sound is not the harsh electronic whine you would expect.

He brings all of the tools he has assembled together into a single powerful gestalt so overwhelming that I hesitate to play it while driving, for fear of being overwhelmed and loosing track of the road.

For anyone who really wants to see what the electric violin is truly capable of, Mr Murphy is one of a very select few who can not be missed.
