Tommy Thompson's "The Saltwater Angler's Guide to Florida's Big Bend and Emerald Coast" is a brilliant, scholarly, and profoundly thorough angling and boating guide to this marvelous area of Florida. I was so impressed that each geographic sub-section was taken in orderly sequence and teaches the reader everything that area offers in endemic game fish, angling tactics, fishing charts, marinas, lodgings, eateries, boat ramps, fishing guides....and more. It is no hyperbole to call this wonderful volume indispensible !

I've really enjoyed this book and still use it as a reference in fishing the Big Bend area. The material covers a wide spectrum of information that would be useful to a novice as well a more seasoned fisherman. It covers the coastal area in specific geographic segments and discusses key elements that differ between the areas. It also contains both techniques and rigging that may differ from other parts of the coastal fishing community along with some of local flavor of the communities along the way.
