At last a real arcade style fishing game for the PS1 !
I have played most of the PS1 fishing game and nothing comes close to this for pure fun. The graphics are incredible, the ocean looks real and the boat even has a realistic looking wake behind it ! The real fun however takes place below the ocean surface. Loads of big game fish to catch, and the gameplay of fighting the fish really gets the adrenaline pumping ! The music is awesome too. Depending on which fish you are fighting, different music kicks in, from techno to thrash rock ! If you like fishing games, this is the one to get !

This is an exalent fishing game. I "caught" on really fast. A tip for the first timers, look for the yellow arrows and press them with the d-pad when reeling the fish in. If you are can't figure out how to set the hook, check the fish info (It also tells you where to find them, with temp and depth. That is also shown on your radar.). Anyways this is an suberb fishing games for game freaks (like me) or real fisherman (also like me).

Got this game today; grandson LOVES it and he's played numerous fishing games so far. Fish are a real challenge; numerous locations so your not stuck in one or two boxed-in corners. Graphics are realistic for the most part. Also, you get a choice of numerous species of fish to hunt down....really a fun game!

Bad graphics, great sound, nice underwater graphics, good sound, mind-boggling variety. An OK SALTWATER FISHING game (no Largemouth here but 1000 + pound Marlins are around!).Bottom-line_ an ok choice to add to your fishing collection f ya like big/saltwater fish.

THIS IS A VERY FUN GAME TO PLAY.MY HUSBAND AND 9 YR OLD LOVE TO PLAY IT.IT'S VERY REALISTIC.

this game is a very fun and challenging game it has pretty good graphics I thought it would be just another fishing game with square lakes and box fish but i was wrong it is awesome.

the only problem i have with this game is setting the hook it doesn't always show the arrows

This game is actually of the few saltwater fishing games I've seen (And thats not much) the only 2 saltwater fishing games I've seen so far is this game (awesome) and reel fishing 2 (also great) anyway the title says it all its a saltwater game which of course means sea which means huge!!!!! and I do mean HUGE fish especially the coverfish the blue marlin so far I've caught one that matches the real world record of 14 ft (at least the last I've checked) anyway the fish fishing is amazing its a bit of a steep learning curve because I would never have expected to have to analog against where the fish is going to releive line tension (the way to do it is fast reel in once the tension goes to red stop and hit the dpad or analog in the direction opposite where they are swimming they will turn around and it will releive tension) theres a short description of each fish and it shows their preferred depth and other such. the graphics are pretty good ontop and under the water it looks great you can even sea those light refraced lines on the fish here are all the pros and cons of the game

1 lots of tackle including live & dead bait and lures of all diferent kinds including live mackerel & squid dead crab and fish fillet. trolling lures like the green tiger and mighty marlin and some iron lures many other types too! overall 17 different types of bait

2 10 different line weights including 4, 20, 50,80, and 130!

3 24 powerfull saltwater fish I havent gotten too far yet But I heard there are even shark in this game

3 different mode include arcade, recreation, and tornament and recreation has several different challange sub-modes.

4 12 awesome spots you start out in hawaii and aquire 11 more fishing areas you can drive your boat around to several diferent spots in the ocean in those fishing areas

5 Advanced fish AI leads to an adrenaline pumping fight its a real challange especially the big ones. fish can do several different moves including deep dives, sharp turns, and high jumps!

6 Fish look great very well detailed and every fish has different fighting styles

7 radar your fishing spots out and then watch them jump in the boat!

8 music is great and each fish has its own catchy fighing theme

9 choose from a topwater and underwater fight veiw to suit your style

10 each lure and bait has a different way to handle to get a bite try different movements for various lures!

11 a gallery to see the length of your best catches for each species!

12 Blue marlin what else can I say!

Overall an awesome game the only thing I could complain about is that the learning curve is a bit steep but when you figure it out its a ton of challanging fun the most action packed fishing game I've ever seen allmost compares to the reel fishing series!

This is a horrible game, I mean it is just down right stupid. The fish are a real pain to catch and the line always snaps on the weakest fish when you are fishing. On top of that the game has the WORST music I have ever heard. The controls are odd and the graphics STINK. The worst part is trying to pick out the right bait to use. The are over 30 kind of bait and only one kind works for each fish. So the whole time you are trying to pick the right bait when the timer is going down. To get new levels you need to beat challenges which are impossible. You get WAY to little time catch a lot of really rare fish. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY BUY A BETTER GAME. !GOOD TIMES!
