5.0 out of 5 stars This old power metal head love this stuff
This really is a great cd - the high pitch vocals, the harmonized guitars - much like Helloween on the best day of their life. I listen to this stuff all the time when I'm hanging out with the boys. I think all should purchase this very underated cd - for these guys will take over the prog metal scene as we know it. I like that they also take a stance on certain issues in...

1.0 out of 5 stars Simply awful!
This album is terrible. A friend purchased this album and played it while driving me around one day - it was a very unpleasant experience. "Pour No Gasoline" was one of the worst songs I heard on the album - the song is very repetitive, the singer keeps yelling on and on about gasoline and Sasquatch, and the song makes no sense. I never heard of these guys before until my buddy introduced me to them. He was playing the CD all day long and finally it started growing on me. I'm like, who are these guys again? I have to get a copy.
Then I found out who was in the band and was just blown away!
No friggin way!
I am glad I didnt know first, it would have clouded my judgement.
Great Music! Great Job Dustin!

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Surprised, October 29, 2003

I was told about this band from my brother who is a nut about underground music. He didnt tell me anything about the band other than that I needed to get a copy of it. After listening to it over at his house a few times,I was hooked.
Only after I told him that I friggin loved it was when he let me in on who was in the band. Dustin Diamond!!! Who the hell would have guess that one?
Either way... all the more power to them. The Music Rocks...Period.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cutting edge, December 5, 2003

To simply say this band comes from the same mold as Smashing Pumpkins or Fiona Apple would be an unfair assertion, as there is nothing dated or retro about their debut production. As a razor-sharp vocal clears the way, a solid, hard-nosed backbeat takes the listener in many different directions at once and sets the tone from the opening track. Combined with intricate instrument to vocal harmonics and symphonic undertones of massive proportion, this disc represents a leap forward and a fresh approach to the angst-driven, alt-rock genre that began with Nirvana in the early 90's but is presented here with an interesting twist: These guys actually sound like they're having fun. Get the disc, it's worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Salty rocks, you just don't know it yet, August 29, 2004
This review is from: Salty the Pocketknife (Audio CD)
I stumbled onto this album when I heard Red Panties 145. I had no idea who the band was, so I have no "this isn't half bad considering it's Skreech" dynamic.

This is challenging, well crafted music. It will never play outside of college stations, unfortunately. At first listen it struck me as confused, scattered and forced, but I kept coming back to it. It just grew on me. It's tight, threatening, carreening and articulate. Part Styxx, Kansas, Dead Kennedys and lots of Kurt Weill/Bertolt Brecht. Rosebud is a dramatic, snarling vixen/psycho and totally for real. Like she smashes in your car window at a stoplight, kisses you with red painted lips and disappears. What the hell was that?!? The whole band is just like that.

This is no vanity project. Diamond could have made pop pablum, gone gold and vanished. If you don't like it, go back to your Britney and Jessica. This group deserves attention.

"Pour No Gasoline" was one of the worst songs I heard on the album - the song is very repetitive, the singer keeps yelling on and on about gasoline and Sasquatch, and the song makes no sense. (If you purchase this album and listen to it all the way through, you'll probably want to pour gasoline all over your copy of this album.)

This band is only famous (and it's actually only slightly famous at best) because Dustin Diamond (Screech from tv's Saved By The Bell) is in the band. However, don't buy this album if you want to hear Screech sing - he's just the bass player.

This is probably some of the worst music I've ever had to endure. This album is precisely the kind of pretentious drivel you'd expect from a washed-up child actor such as Dustin "Screech" Diamond. Dustin, we demand that you cease and desist. Get your G.E.D. and find a job, because this is just devastating.

Dustin Diamond (Screech from Saved by the Bell) came to the college here to do a comedy routine which was very good. He played some of his band music before he came out and promoted his group. I decided that I would buy a CD to support him, I was only one that did. It was my first Parental Advisory CD I have bought, but I do not regret it. I really like this CD! I think you all will like it too!
