5.0 out of 5 stars Johnny Hallyday Is the Greatest Singer That Ever Lived
If you follow the music of Johnny Hallyday from beginning to end, you will find the evolution of the greatest singer that ever lived.
And don't give me that 'But it's in French' nonsense. Since when did the exact meaning of the words ever surpass the quality of the music? So many Americans need to throw off a huge burden of arrogance and isolationism before they are...

He might not be the greatest singer that ever lived, but he sure made some good rock (and still is). However, some of the stuff on this record is dated, like "Twistin USA" and the French version of "Let's twist again". And "Wap dou wap"? Well...I think Johnny's had better tunes to sing. 5.0 out of 5 stars Superb, Johnny at his best!, April 18, 2003
This review is from: Salut les Copains! (Audio CD)
Great collection of Johnny's early records, mostly twist and rock'n'roll but there are some great romantic songs as well (like Douce Violence, the real gem!).
So if you like late 50s music from guys like Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent then you don't want to miss this one.
Johnny rocks!
