I was looking for a good Dali postcard, so this book of 30 really did the trick as far as meeting my basic need....but was quite disappointed to see the lack of quality in the prints. The colors don't translate well at all, and having just seen the Dali exhibit in person, going from the real thing to what appears as an almost xeroxed copy of so, was a let down. But the book has a good mix of his most famous works, so if the reproduction quality isn't an issue, then you're gold.
Some of what is included: "One second before awakening from a dream.." "Apparition of face and fruit dish.." "Spain" "Mae West" "The Dream" "The Last Supper" "Metamorphosis of the Narcissus" "The Hallucinogenic Toreador" etc. What it doesn't have (surprisingly enough)is "The Persistence of Time". Overall, this book is fun to flip through :) |
