A glorious return to form,
By
This review is from: Salvation (Audio CD)
What was your *last* memory of Alphaville? Breathtaking Blue? If so, this disc will leave you overjoyed. Everything that made them one of the finest synth groups of the 80s - the ambiguous but passionate lyrics, the soaring melodies, the romance tinged with sorrow, the unbridled sense of fun - it's all here! They haven't aged - they've been reborn. Songs such as Guardian Angel, Pandora's Lullaby, Inside Out, and Point of Know Return will delight you. They not only compare favorably to the best Alphaville classics, like Forever Young, Big In Japan, or Dance With Me; they actually surpass them. There are a few vocal rough spots and awkward moments here - but overall, the vast majority of the songs are glorious. Long live Alphaville!

Fantastic CD,

This review is from: Salvation (Audio CD)
Although not as great as their groundbreaking releases "Forever Young" and "Prostitute," "Salvation," like all other Alphaville albums, only improves with age. A great, harder-edged sound is presented by Alphaville with this album, a little more techno than usual. Overall, this is a must have for any Alphaville, Pet Shop Boys, or Erasure fan.

Salvation brings Alphaville back to their style,

Salvation hits the right beats and sends you back to when no one knew of Alphaville and you felt you that the music was made just for you. This is a must have if you already own "Forever Young" and "Afternoons In Utopia". If you dont know who Alphaville is then this is an excellent cd to start with. One thing to do is get the American release with the extra tracks. The European one doesn't have any extra tracks and has a different cover. You will enjoy this cd!
