This review is from: Salve Feste Dies: Gregorian Chant for Seasons of the Year (Audio CD)
This CD has early church chants that you may recognize yourself still hearing in more traditional Latin Catholic Churches. Even if not, the voice quality is great. The church acoustics must be perfect for how the voices reverberate. I have many chant CD's but this and its sister CD's, " ADORATE DEUM" and "EGO SUM RESURRECTIO", are some of the best. It is refreshing to have mixed voices of men and women alternating in these calming chants. I was surprised at how uplifting and joyous sounding EGO SUM RESURRCTIO was as it is "chant for the dead", so I thought it might be a bit dreary--NOT SO. All 3 CD'S are great finds for listening to chant at its best.
