Cat burglaries?,
This review is from: Sam the Cat: Detective (Sam the Cat Mysteries, No. 1) (Paperback)
This is the story of Sam, a one-man, err, cat, detective squad. He sleuths for the truth behind the too-many, too recent cat-burgleries. (It's just too ironic, isn't it?) Anyway, the story is about how Sam and his feline friends discover just who is behind those burglaries. The climax occurs when Sam attempts to capture the crook. And with a little help from his friends, and a little ingenuity, the conclusion is wonderful. This is a great story for kids, because it allows them to try to figure out who is at fault. It has a great story line, and it's a lot of fun.

And in my opinion, neither of them suffer for it. While this book is targeted to a young adult audience--and I highly recommend it--I would also suggest it to cat-loving mystery novel fans as well. Sam, the cat, has a wonderfully funny and unique voice that keeps you turning the pages. It's hard to keep your friends' paws off this book til you're done.

Sam the Cat: Detective,
This review is from: Sam the Cat: Detective (Sam the Cat Mysteries, No. 1) (Paperback)
This is a great book! I happened upon it in fifth grade when my school was giving away a bunch of books and started reading it immediately. I was hooked after the first page, and must have read it ten-twenty times in the next year. I loved it every time. Somehow, the book got stuffed into a box and saw a few years in the garage until I found it just recently. I'm now in the tenth grade. I loved it even more than I did when I read it those years ago. The characters are clever, the dialogue is witty, and it can engage children but still has the humor to hook adults. I would recommend this book to anyone! It's one of the best I've ever read.

Sam the Cat: Detective was the first chapter book I had ever read. I picked it up in a book fair at one of the elementary schools about 8 years ago. I am 15 now, and I decided to read it again. I like it even better now, and can see why I like books so much. I definitely will read this book to my children.

A fast-paced, charming story with a cat detective hero Humphrey Bogart would have loved to play if he had paws and a tail. Truly family reading. We liked it as much as our kid did!

Sure, Same The Cat Detective, is a pretty easy book but it is well written and very cute. If you're looking for something short and easy to help you lighten up a dark mood, Sam the Cat Detective is perfect.

Sam the cat detective review,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Sam the Cat: Detective (Sam the Cat Mysteries, No. 1) (Paperback)
1. There is a cat named Sam. He is a great cat detective. He gets upset when things go wrong, for example, if someone gets robbed. He met his friends along his detective search. One of his friends name is Sugarly. Sugarly helped Sam do detective work and find things out a robbery. She helps Sam make sure that everything is O.K. Sam is a good friend to everyone. Sam is never testy to his friends. Sometimes his friends help him do detective work. His friends are good detectives too. At the end everything gets solved.
2.Sam is a good detective. He makes sure crimes get solved. When something goes wrong he does'nt like it. 3.Sam the cat detective is a book that I would recommend. It is funny. This is a ficton story because the cat talks. He is a great detective because he makes sure that everyone is safe. If you read this book, it will knock your socks off, that's why I would recommend it.

Sam The Cat is a book for youngsters, but the writing is hip and sharp enough to make it entertaining for those of us born before uh...Britney Spears?

Cleverly-crafted take-off on the hardboiled detective genre,

I bought Sam the Cat Detective for the great cover design--a gray cat in a Chandleresque fedora sitting beneath a streetlight.
To my astonishment, the story more than lived up to the promise of the cover art. Stewart sustains her gentle send-up of a hardboiled Los Angeles detective story throughout. I remain surprised that Sam is considered a children's book--it's a classic that I'd recommend for adult mystery fans, certainly those who like cats.
