I have been a fan of Sam Zien's for some time now. I love to cook for my family, but I would not say I am an expert in the kitchen. I have always wanted to be more adventurous with recipes, but never knew where to start. Sam's new book, Awesome Recipes and Kitchen Shortcuts, really surprised me in a positive way. This is not only a great recipe book, it is also a true cooking guide book that every food lover should own. Sam busts out of the box of traditional cookbooks in that he also teaches you how to have flexibility and enjoyment with the entire cooking experience. His book shows you how cooking and fun should be synonymous and that food should not only look good, but taste good! Oh, and I love his sauces. They taste awesome and they are a breeze to make. This book has changed the way I cook, completely!

Sam has saved my marriage. Finally, someone has the good sense and knowledge to help me make my family not only happy, but estatic. I've tried several of Sam's recipes and they're not only delicious, but absolutely outstanding. Our family has been following Sam's TV show for years, and finally network TV has discovered him- I can't wait for his next appearance on the TODAY show- he just makes it rock. His latest cookbook with all those exciting recipes just demonstrates how really good and healthy simplified cooking can really be. All our friends are loyal fans and have bought every one of his previous cookbooks. Bravo, Sam!

For instance, do you think Pesto, Shrimp, and White Bean Soup will take all day to make? Think again. This recipe takes just 10-15 minutes to prepare and calls for only 4 ingredients!

Forget the prep work and order this cookbook. You are sure to learn a few things and who knows, your quality of life might even improve a little

I'm a huge fan of STCG!! We watch his show all the time. I have his first book and use it a lot. Just got the new one. Love that it has a bunch of kitchen hints too. The grilled asparagus with pancetta is delicious and I can't wait to try the meatloaf!! Gotta love Sam!

I just finished reading Sam's new cook book and once again I am inspired to go into my kitchen and make a great meal. This book fits my needs completely. Simple recipes with a twist to make them special. Everytime I make a recipe from Sam's cook book my friends go crazy. I hate to tell them how easy it is....the asian wings are a winner.
Thanks to Sam I can always find something to cook. On another note, I love Sam's witty personality and commentary.

I recently moved to a VERY tiny condo with a VERY tiny kitchen. I bought this book because it looked like it had some great ideas for things I could actually put together without too much preparation. This book did not disappoint. It just came today so I have to admit I haven't actually cooked anything from it but I can't stop flipping thru it. Everything looks so tasty and most can be prepared in minutes. I love Sam's easy breezy attitude, too. This is my first of his books and now I want to purchase more.

I love everything about Sam's cookbooks. The recipes are always so easy and great tasting too! His books are the ones that I always reach for when I'm in a hurry cause I usually have all the ingredients already in my pantry. I've given his first cookbook to several people as gifts and will do the same with this one. Everybody loves it!

This book is full of easy and delicious recipes, and wonderful time saving tips for every cook. I have given a copy of this book to my college students and their friends... it is a perfect tool for young cooks as well as those who do not have much time to spend in the kitchen!

This book is the best! Maybe even better than the last. Hurry - quit reading and go order it NOW. BTW - gotta love SAM

I came across Sam on Fit TV and was immediately hooked. I love the quirky "indie filmmaking" feeling and awesome graphics. The show takes place in his very own kitchen with his dogs, family and camera man making appearances from time to time. This makes it really fun. No ego here. He is a perfect combination of "down to earth" and "off the chain" but in a good way. Check out his moment with Kathy Lee and Hoda on youtube, the morning show. I LMAO. He beats to his own drum and I respect that.

I have been greatly inspired by Sams use of healthy "prepared foods" found in most decent grocery stores, with the addition of fresh ingredients typically "on hand" in most refrigerators.
My knife skills have improved since tuning in to his show and I have learned an easy way to peel garlic by using one of his knife techniques. Duh! Sam says, "yeah, you can use a garlic press but, I like the "cooking part of cooking". Well said, brother.
As a testament to his talent, I gave his cookbook as a gift to 5 friend/family members this past Christmas. From beginner level to well qualified cook. I only gave a 4 star rating above because people... to really "get him" is to see him live on TV. Find a way. Book is great for peeps who don't want to screw around all night cooking and want to eat healthy. I have a folder for recipes on my desktop now titled STCG. You figure it out! Love me some Sam!
