About the Author

Frank Radice is senior vice president of the NBC Agency, East Coast, the inhouse advertising and promotion division of the NBC Television Network. Also an accomplished composer and musician, Frank is co-writer of the award winning theme for the Today show. This is his first children’s book, co-written with his wife, Vida. Sam Katz is inspired by their real-life cat, Sam Katz, who is one of the few felines ever to appear in bold face in the Post’s Page Six. The authors (and Sam) live in New York, New York.

Known around the world as the Master of 3-D Pop Art, Charles Fazzino exhibits his original and distinctive 3-D creations in more than 600 fine art galleries in 15 different countries. He lives with his family in Pelham Manor, New York.

Your kids probably won't need this tip--but as a dumb adult, I had trouble figuring out what to do with the pull tabs on each page. I kept thinking I was supposed to pull to the right and slide something out. But you need to pull UP and to the side at the same time, to create a 3D effect. The top of the page raises up like part of a box.

This book is fabulous. I bought one for each of my grandchildren and myself. We live very far apart, but with each having their own book, I can read it to them over the phone and they can follow along on their end. The oldest is 5. The book's creators and illustrator had an imagination that would not quit. What a concept, a cat that is home alone all day decides to enter pictures on the wall and then with wit and rhyme describe his adventures. The pull out feature on the illustrations give you 3D vision of his journeys. This book may surpass Dr.Seuss, if you can imagine that.

This book has to be the best children's book I have seen in some time.

The story is beguiling and the illustrations are quite superb. There is something new and interesting to see each time you look at it. All my little friends, (kids not cats) are delighted with it!!!!!

This pop=up book, beautifully illustrted by Carles Fazzino, is very charming. Using works of art, it tells the stry of a cat named Sam Katz who travels through the house in which he lives. The illustrations, by the well known artist Charles Fazzino, really make this book the charmer that it is. I certainly woild recommend the book to any one who loves cats, art and clean fun.

Frank Radice was my boss on the East Coast and had sent me a poster Charles Fazzino had illustrated for the Daytime Emmy's in Los Angeles. I loved his artwork and Frank told me to check out the book which I then promptly bought. I really loved the story, especially since I personally know Sami Katz and the pop-up illustrations are amazing. I just recently gave the book as a gift to the daughter of good friends for her birthday.

This book is pure genius! From the amazing talent of the writers, Frank and Vida, to the incredible and always impressive illustrations of Charles Fazzino this book is a winner from the start. The combination of rhymes and detailed pop-ups and the way you have to figure out the word that gets you to the next page, it is an enjoyable and exciting read everytime! I can't wait to see where Sam Katz goes next!

Wow! I am a mom of 4 year old twins, and have never seen my children so excited about a book....and we read lots of books! They loved helping Sam find his way around, and couldn't wait to find out where he was traveling to next! Kudos to Frank and Vida Radice for sharing such a wonderful story, and to the ever amazing Master of 3-D Pop Art, Charles Fazzino for making this story come to life!

Sam Katz on the Loose is a beautiful and entertaining children's book. The three dimensional pages held the interest of my grand children. The enjoyed looking for the pictures mentioned in the story.

I was interested in the book because my husband's name is "Sam Katz" and the kids thought it was great to have a book named after their grandpa.
