3.0 out of 5 stars Nice game, but fairly easy July 23, 2010
By Noelle
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
As an adult gamer, I would say this game is rather 'easy' for experienced or casual players of hidden object games. Good for kids, though. It took me only a weekend to complete the whole game, with only a couple of hours of gameplay each day. I'll give it 3 stars because I think the idea of a book series turned videogame is good. Plus, the graphics are quite allright, and on the whole I liked to advance on the game to see how the storyline developed.

Samantha Swift, an archeologist, sets on a journey to find the 6 roses of Athena. You'll travel to diferent locations in the world in order to find the Roses. The game is basically about finding objects. Some of them are called 'secret items', which you'll recognise because they're written in blue. In order to find these objects you need to use some tools, that you will also find during the game.

My impression, overall, was that this is an easy game. Apart from having the chance to use hints repeatedly, which help you locate the items by pointing at them with a bolt of lightning, you can click on the name of the objects and your radar creates a silhouette, so that you know what you're looking for. This particular tool helped me sometimes, since being a non-native English speaker I didn't know the meaning of all the words. The 'secret items' in the scene are pointed by a blue area, so that you know that a tool is needed there. In order to find the right tool, you just need to move it next to the area, if it turns red, it means it is the wrong tool. See what I mean? You can never go wrong. There are some puzzles too, but not complicated at all. I have to say when I got all 6 roses I was hoping for a 'turning of the plot' and some more storyline following. The impression was that the game was too short...

4.0 out of 5 stars it's alot of fun but.... August 6, 2010

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I got this game because I have all the samantha swift computer games. If you like the computer game you'll like this because it's the exact samething. The only down side and the only reason i gave it 4 stars is you can't save your progress unless you finish the whole level so if you want to quit 1/2 way through a level your out of luck you'll have to start all over again from the begining when you start to play again. It's a quick play but the Amazon Product Description is WRONG!!! There is only ONE game Samantha Swift and the golden touch is NOT ON THIS GAME!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Relatively short but interesting December 2, 2010
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Although this game is easy for those who finish this type of game "daily," I would recommend it for those of us who want to be mildly challenged. Most hidden object games essentially have no point except to find myriads of unrelated objects. This one tries to tie some of the objects into the plot. I will play it again. P.S. If you find it cheaper, it's even better! I am hoping for a sequel, hint to anyone who is a developer and is intelligent enough to care about our comments.

This game is completely overpriced, lasted a very short time before it was over. It was boring and more for the younger crowd. I do not recommend this game.

This is a great hidden object game for everyone. It combines hidden object and inventory assessment areas. It is not confusing but is more involving than hidden object alone. I've enjoyed the "Samantha Swift" series on the PC and I was glad to find that the game for Nintendo DS is just as good. A couple of differences but overall just as enjoyable.
