5.0 out of 5 stars Samantha's Life- EXPLAINED
This book was well awaited. Finally a long over due book about why samantha decided to live in Ireland was written. Samantha goes to a B&B in Ireland and loves it there so much she decided to stay. With eventing, show-jumping, and Finn Mcoull (?) she decides life cant be any better in Ireland with Tor. But when a Family emergancy forces them both back to Kentucky, Sammy...

3.0 out of 5 stars Sam's Absence Explained. SAVE TB!!
I enjoyed this book because of the fact that explained where Same and Tor disappeared to during the huge generation gap. Ireland was described wonderfully and all of the characters there were unique and well rounded. There were quite a few mistakes though, like the glaring fact that Red Rum was a gleding and couldn't have possible had any descendents like Finn. All in...

But when a Family emergancy forces them both back to Kentucky, Sammy is torn. Does she spend her life in Ireland with the most fantastic horse ever? Or does she choose her own husband? She goes with Tor, deciding he shouldnt face family matters alone but she has a constant nagging about Finn. She knew he was the perfect horse and she cant get over the fact that he is back in Ireland. Tor wants to surprise sammy since she was so depressed. Can you guess what he did? Yep he bought Finn and moved him to KY. Go figure. All in all this was an over due book and im looking forward to the next :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Samantha's great irish luck, February 17, 2009
A Kid's Review
I loved samantha's irish luck!! It was a great story(especially if you love horses). It had many exciting climaxes. Whenever i tried to put the book down, i found myself reading another one or two chapters! Should you ever find this story boring, I encourage you to read another chapter. You're sure to find a liking to this book. GREAT JOB JOANNA!! Keep writing more books for this series so we may ALL enjoy you're books for a long time!

All in all it was a pretty good book that did a good job in satisfying all the questions that many of us loyal readers had.

The reason that the two Samantha books (65, 66) and the Lost Diaries were written was because Harper Collins listened to what the readers wanted and came thought. Now Harper is planning on ending the TB series abruptly after #72. I hope Harper is listening to the readers now! PLEASE SAVE THOROUGHBRED!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Glad to see her back!, January 10, 2005
Ever since I started reading Thoroughbred books, Samantha was my favorite character. So I was thrilled to see this about her time in Ireland; the subject had previously been such a murky area for the series. It was nothing short of adorable in most parts, and it did a nice job wrapping up some of the previously unexplained elements in the series.

Of course, this makes it all the more upsetting to hear that the publisher has decided to end the series. I've been a fan for a decade and I know I'm not alone in saying that. Hopefully, as a previous reviewer said, Harper Collins will reconsider its decision based on reader demand. Trust me that it exists. ;)

3.0 out of 5 stars sammy's back, January 8, 2005

though i think this book was kind of farfetched and thrown together, i'm really glad that we finally got to see why sammy and tor moved to ireland, and similarly, why inspired them to move back. i'm also glad this flashback wasn't in diary form. it's so exciting that's sammy's pregnant with twins!

hopefully the editors will listen to reader demand, which inspired this book, and reconsider their decision to cancel the series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, December 5, 2005
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Samantha's Irish Luck (Thoroughbred) (Turtleback)
this was an awesome book to read and i would reccommend it to any horse lover. The only problem that i had with this book was that the author said that the Famous steeplechase horse Red Rum was a stallion, when he was actually a gelding. In the book,Red rum had sired a foal. But since he was actually a gelding, the truth is that Red Rum,could never have sired a foal, since he was fixed.
