Very Touching,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Samantha's Pride (Thoroughbred Series #7) (Paperback)
"...I couldn't leave him there..." That's how I felt as soon as I picked up book No. 7 of the Thoroughbred series, Samantha's Pride. This story perfectly tells about a Champion colt, Wonder's Pride, of Ashleigh's Wonder, (Kentucky Derby Winner) in his 3-year-old season. My heart really jumped into my throat when Ashleigh decided to take things into her own hands.I really enjoyed this book. I really hate Brad though. I hated him from the time he "Muscled" Ashleigh's Wonder around, and bruised her ankle. All horse lovers: this is a "Must read!"

A realistic story,
By A Customer
This review is from: Samantha's Pride (Thoroughbred) (School & Library Binding)
Quite frankly, this book blew me away. Lets give the author credit, shall we? It was obvious Campell knew her facts, and knew them well. She portrayed each character to their potential, whether it be the obnoxious Townsends, or the courageous Griffins. I felt Wonder's Pride come alive in the text, and felt Samantha's misery and fear when he was injured in the Belemont. I think this is a very realistic scenario, and Campell protrayed it wonderfully. Five Stars!

OVER RACED,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Samantha's Pride (Thoroughbred Series #7) (Paperback)
This book was really good. Wonders Pride has finally started his racing career. Wonders Pride was just like his dam, Ashleighs Wonder. Pride has the heart to win every race he enteres. But Mr.Townsend, half owner in Wonder and Pride saw that Pride could make up the money he needed and entered any race he can get Pride into. Oride was entered in the Tripple Crown. Each race 3 weeks apart. Then Pride starts racing a race in each month, mabe two. Only Samantha McKlean and Ashleigh Griffen can see Pride is having difficulty handling the races. Samantha knows Pride best and Samantha can see that Pride starts coming out of his races as tired as ever and soaked with sweat. Ashleigh and Samantha try to convince Mr.Townsend that Pride is being overraced and is really in bad shape. But Mr.Townsend wants Pride to keep racing the way he is now, and Ashleigh and Samantha know if that happens, Pride will get serieously injuried and never race again. Pride is thin and weak and has a race coming up soon. So Ashleigh brings him back to Whitebrook Farm. But will Mr.Townsend take him back to Townsend Acres and keep racing Pride till death or can Ashleigh and Samantha save Pride before its too late? Find out for yourself.
