5.0 out of 5 stars A Great book, August 23, 1998
This review is from: Samaritans and Jews: The Origins of Samaritanism Reconsidered (Growing Points in Theology) (Paperback)
This book is a must have. This book of 6 chapters is a total of 170 pages long with two index of Biblical refernces and Authors. Coggins did a very good job in his investigation of the Samaritans. His first chapter of the Introduction begins with the nature of their(Samaritan) problems. Chapter 2 is a witness of the old Testament. 3. The Later Jewish Literary Evidence. 4. Evidence of Archaeology. 5. Samaritan Traditions and 6. his Summary and conclusions. It is a very good read in view of the Samaritan people. I have never read a book with such favor of the Samaritan people. A must for study. Buy it and read it even if you don't study these people. Recommended Highly. Enjoy!
