If you have any intention of buying Samba De Amiga, stop right now. You must be willing to spend the money and pick up the maracas to play the game!! Yes, I know, you are looking at over a hundred dollars for one game, but I'll tell you, you will have one of the best party and music games of all time! Breaking the traditional "press the buttons in order and to the beat" music games of the past, this game will have you shaking your maracas and booty to the dancing monkey, all to a great latin beat. Easy to learn, tough to master, this will delight and challenge gamers and non-gamers alike. And if you can really afford it, 2 sets of maracas equal 10 times the fun, as you and a friend can play with or against each other. I can't stress this enough, DON'T BUY THE GAME WITHOUT THE MARACAS!!

(these controllers are for the game, Samba de Amigo, and are useless without it. Together with the game, though, and you have more fun than a barrel full of monkeys! :)

I cannot stop laughing, this game is so much fun. All my friends are rolling on the floor laughing at themselves, but they keep playing because it is so much fun (and they are a tough crowd). Samba de Amigo is the *perfect* party game, because absolutely everyone comes over to see what is going on, and even the stiffest square will eventually give it a go. I can actually get my grandmother to play.

Samba de Amigo is a music game, in which you shake maracas to the beat of the music. You shake 'em high, you shake 'em low, you shake 'em fast, you shake 'em slow :) You strike funny poses at times, and the rythmns gets harder, but the fun never goes away. It's one of those simple things that makes you think "Why did anyone think of this before?"

The game is just not as fun w/o the Maracas, its very amusing to play and then to watch others look extremely silly shaking to the beat and posing is nothing short of hilarous. So far no real complaints about the sensors which are very accurate, most complaints were easily silenced by adjusting height and remembering to keep them in front of you. The setup is very easy, its basic just plug and play. All the parts appear to be of good quality, built to last, and decorated in the same theme of the game. The price is steep but you can always try for 3rd party maracas but who knows what you'll be getting then.

The *only* reason I give this product 4 starsis it's sometimes hard to find, and cuz they make your forearms tired =)

This game is a real hoot! Especially if you like to shake your booty and get an excellent aerobic exercise too. It's a great game to play either by yourself or especially when you have your friends over for birthday parties, etc. you'll never want to quit! However, there are two things to remember: (1) You have to buy the actual game separate from the maracas. (2) The original sega brand maracas are EXTREMELY hard to find and very expensive. We have a set of third party (non sega) maracas that have worked just fine for us and are less expensive.

This game ROCKS! I play it for hours on end without ever getting bored. Frustrated sometiems, but never bored. It is a good workout for your forearms ;)My brother says he is going to sneak up on me while I'm playing and video tape me b/c it's hilarious! It takes practice. The challenges are hard, but Im now the Maracas King (Queen actually :) I reccommend this game to all. It is different and I hope they make more like it! When are they going to have a soundtrack? I have all the songs embedded into my brain! ROCK ON! :D

We love it, it is a great game for entertaining company both young and old...Would reccommend it for all ages. The maracas are so much fun. I bought the game and the maracas in 2000 and it still works like new.

I loved the Samba de Amigo game from the first moment i played it on a cold winter's day in Brooklyn. How many games allow you to shake maracas and "vogue" while a crack-head baby monkey gyrates and bounces in a seemingly hallucinogenic-induced frenzy?

THe problem that i've experienced (as many others who've become addicted to this game undoubtedly have, also) is finding official Sega maraca controllers to really get the most out of the little Rio Carnival in your living room. I've even contacted the Sega folks themselves in hopes of finding some maracas. They sent me to this site to buy what i needed. So i sent Amazon my credit card info with instructions to find me my maracas, come hell or highwater. Now, because Sega lists Amazon as THE site to find the necessary accessory, i assumed that once purchased, i'd have a set of official shakeshakeshake maracas. When i got my box, i found out i spent way too much money on third-party manufactured maracas. They seem to work okay, but most of the reviews i've read online indicate that the long term reliability of third party maracas is questionable at best. I'll make do with my purchase but i'm concerned about people being misled when purchasing through the Amazon re-seller program.

Samba de amigo is an awesome game. My problem now is I need a set of the original Sega maracas. Please let me know if your selling maracas.

Samba de Amigo is undeniably the most fun and original game created for the Sega Dreamcast - indeed, for me, it's the best console game ever (well, since the original Mike Tyson's Punchout). As other reviewers have said, the game is only fun with the maracas. Alas, Sega quit manufacturing these; and even if you do find them, you'll find they don't respond as well as certain third-party manufacturers' products.

There are two other companies still selling maracas controllers for the Dreamcast, but ... does not carry either product. I recommend checking Ebay, they are available there quite frequently. I paid forty dollars for a set, and they're highly responsive and have lasted an awful lot of shaking (and some dropping) without any noticeable wear and tear.
