This CD collection of Carmen singing Sambas in Portugese really shows her artistry [ devoid of all the Hollywood commercialism ] & allows those who adore Brazilian music to hear a treasure of great choro & samba songs from the pre-bossa nova era well sung with a groovin' band behind her... Carmen was one of the great Divas of world entertainment in her time along with Carmen Amaya & Maria Callas- BUT like Charo [ a more modern commercialized Diva ], was a great artist exploited for hercharisma while her true talents & artistry were ignored... How nice to have a souvenir of her truest talents to enjoy !! 5 stars = a classic
