IF THERE IS ONE CD I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT...,

WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT THIS CD (1992 OR SO), IT DIDN'T DO MUCH FOR ME. SINCE THEN IT HAS BECOME MY FAVORITE ALBUM OF ALL TIME. THE HARMONIZING GUITAR RIFFS, THE BLAZING DRUM ROLLS AND CRASHING CYMBALS ALONG WITH THE HEARTFELT AND SUPER-EMOTIONAL LYRICS MAKE FOR A FANTASTIC ALBUM. ABSOLUTELY THE #1 SAMIAM ALBUM. WHEN I HEAR THIS ALBUM, I FEEL LIKE CRYING, LAUGHING, AND JUMPING AROUND THE ROOM WITH A FIST TO THE SKY. TURN IT ON, PLAY IT LOUD, OPEN YOURSELF UP TO SAMIAM.

great CD, by the best band...EVER,

Let me start off by saying Samiam is the best band ever. I have just about every record they've ever put out on CD and vinyl and have been a huge fan since about 1992. That being said, this record is by NO MEANS bad. The production quality is definitely NOT on the same level as other later era Samiam recordings, and must have been recorded on a very small budget, but the songs themselves are just as amazing musically and especially lyrically. I've heard this CD is actually made up of 2 previously recorded 7inches. It's a much more oldschool punk sound. This record actually contains the song "underground" which is probably one of the best Samiam songs, if not the best, as well as Speed, the Bridge, and Early Morning which are all amazing. This is a very underrated CD, but still probably not the best for newcomers.

Absolutely brilliant. One album I could have never lived without, and is a mainstay on my record player. 'nuff said.

This is some early stuff by a great band. It is very good, but they had not reached their peak yet. Great stuff! Check them out!

One of my Top 5 Favorite Bands ever.,

This is the first 2 EP's combined on one CD by this band... Although not too similar, if you like Jawbreaker - you'll most likely dig this. Samiam is really fun to see live. Too bad they got dropped by their corporate label... they haven't put out a bad album - this is the first and probably ranks about 2nd or 3rd overall. I guess they kinda sound like Seaweed a little bit, but this isn't grunge.

*****ONE OF THE TOP ROCK ALBUMS EVER!!!!!,
This review is from: Samiam (MP3 Download)
this album is so awesome! i listened to this album on tape back in the 90's in Oceanside, California. it became a everyday thing to play Samiam (self titled). of all punk i heard (subhumans, agent orange, crass, etc..) i absolutely loved this one. "my eyes", "speed", "home sweet home" are of my favorites! you'll enjoy this if you like that 80's sounding rock. i was listening to a song by Dramorama, "anything anything ill give you", and it reminded me of Samiam's style. im glad i got the mp3s, i lost the tape after all these years! lol..
