Greg Bennett Guitars

The Gold Rush ST91 is a 3/4-size dreadnought acoustic guitar with a gloss natural finish and detailed features typically found on more expensive acoustic guitars.

Why the Gold Rush ST91?

The light weight Nato Mahogany body and traditional X style bracing provide a bright, balanced tone, with volume that will keep your chords ring through loud and clear. Single-ply binding, a soft cornered Rosewood Bridge, and die-cast tuners give you a reliable instrument that will last for years. These great features plus an easy to play neck profile give you a guitar that will always be kept within easy reach.

Rounded fingerboard and abalone type rosette

The fingerboard ends in an arc that follows the soundhole for an incredibly clean look. The single band of abalone type material really dresses up the appearance.

Soft corner bridge

The rounded corners on our new acoustic bridge are visually consistent with the line, but there is a very nice physical advantage as well. The soft corners reduce the possibility of finish cracking that very often appears at the sharp corners of the typical bridge.

More about the Gold Rush series:

A guitar should be visually inspiring, regardless of how much it costs. The Gold Rush series acoustics use professional body and headstock shapes, rather than compromised catalog shapes that are scaled back to save a few pennies. The mechanics, such as the neck and headstock angle, are treated the same as on our premium guitars. The difference is only in the simplicity, rather than the quality.

This is an amazing guitar for the price.
Made in Indonesia with Grover tuners, satin finish, is a Greg Bennett design, and manufactured by Samick and plays and feels very nice and is part of the "Gold Rush" series as denoted by the number one (1),
ST91 = Gold Rush: all mahogany, ST92= Regency: spruce top and the rest mahogany.
By the way, in all cases the mahogany is NATO which is the current South American hard wood that resembles mahogany and you should not be afraid of it, as it is beautiful and does a great job.
The neck is C shaped and the frets are set low and are not hanging out to give you finger rash.
If you are thinking of a smaller acoustic for you, or the kid, go for either the ST61 or the ST62, or for a bit larger guitar, the ST91 and ST92 series and you will not be disappointed.
I own close to 70 guitars and the ST91/92 are without a doubt my favorite acoustics, as I come from (and mainly play) the electric guitar world and am not comfortable with the big dreadnoughts.

I would recommend changing out the 12-54's for 11-52's or 10-47's on all of these smaller scale guitars, as they both have 18 frets.
This is kind of a pet peeve of mine anyway; with manufacturers sending out travel, kids, 1/2 and 3/4 scale guitars with 12-54 strings on them.
The guitars actual length is 37-1/4" long with a scale of 23-3/4" and they call it a 39" guitar which is about a 7/8 size guitar.
Compare these with the 1931/32 Gibson L1 flat top (the largest guitar I like to play) with a length of 38-1/4" and a scale of 25" and the ST92 comes up just a bit short of calling it a parlor guitar and the Samick guitars do not change depth as the Gibson does.
Since I have both the ST91 and 92, I can say there is very little discernible difference that would justify the Spruce top if you are trying to save money; go for the ST91.

I'm an intermediate guitar player, and upgraded to this one after purchasing a super cheap no name beginner's guitar to learn on.

It is amazing at how much my playing has improved in just a couple days with this guitar! It is really well made and such a great deal for the price. I had looked at some other brands (in store) at the same price point, and it was obvious that this guitar was much better quality than the low end big name brand guitars. I am so, so happy with this guitar!

I am a small framed adult woman and this guitar fit me very well at 3/4 size and a slightly slimmer body. It stays in tune and plays absolutely beautifully! I wish I had forgone buying a cheapo guitar as my beginner guitar and just purchased this one instead. I'm sure if I'd had this guitar, I'd have advanced MUCH faster with my playing!

The only gripe I have is really, really minor. It doesn't have a pickguard, and I'm constantly in fear of scratching my beautiful guitar! But never fear, you can buy static cling clear pickguards that will protect the finish and won't ruin the guitar's look or finish with glue or sticky adhesive. I'm off to order a few of those here on amazon as we speak!

I REALLY love this guitar and wouldn't hesitate to purchase another one if something happened to this one! Highly recommended!!

EDIT: I just realized this guitar listing is for the satin finish. I have a high gloss finish on mine, so the static pickguards should work on mine, but if you get the natural satin finish, they may not stick to your guitar (if you choose to purchase a pickguard for this one). Just wanted to point that out in case anyone was ordering the guitar and a pickguard at the same time!

Great beginner guitar. Good sound, the one I own is well made. Felt confident after not playing for over 3 years. Price more than fair for what it is.

When I first pick it up it was so light I thought it was a toy but after tuning it up and hitting the open E it was obvious this is the real deal. Great sound and well set up out of the box and looks great. This is the perfect travel guitar.
