I have played guitar for 25 years as a semi-pro and weekend-warrior and got a pretty decent quiver of guitars ranging from CS/American Strats, Gibson LPs, vintage Ibanez, and PRS...so I feel qualified to say that this is a nice little guitar and not a toy. I got it for my youngest daughter (3 years old) and she loves it. Very playable, neck has a truss rod, fully adjustable bridge, good fit and finish (the only flaw I found was that an edge of the pickguard was lifted a little but that was easily fixed), nice solid feel, weighs about 4.5 pounds. The neck has a nice satin finish, the body's red metallic is sure to please the younger set (red guitars are cool!), and the headstock with Greg Bennett's sig is nice and doesn't look cheesy. The tuners are decent and hold tuning. Put on a new set of strings (.010's or 0.011's recommended), tune up a fourth to A D G B E A, or to open "G" (G D G B D G) and it sounds great. Pickups are decent sounding and fit the timbre of the guitar, didn't come with gig bag or guitar strap. did come with a cheap guitar cord that is good for kids. Came set up well, could use a little tweaking but quite playable out of the box. I consider this to be a good value and with just reasonable care will last a long time.

I am very skeptical of kids-sized instruments. Usually, they are toys, not actual musical instruments. I was terrified that this guitar, which I decided to order after a lot a research for my daughter's fourth birthday, wouldn't make the grade. It really does the job. Tune it up a fourth to ADGBEA and it is ready to go. I could not be happier. I would record with this!
