5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Detective Series - Scariest Mystery Yet!
I read this book to my 3 sons, ages 13, 10, and 8. There were times they were all scared and times they didn't want me to stop reading to them because they had to know what happened next. What more could you ask for in a book? This mystery was dedicated to all people who fight terrorists, both big and small. It was written with 9/11 in mind, and, in my opinion, it is...

3.0 out of 5 stars Spy Dude
This book very confusing and I barely know what's happening (so far). All I know is there's this dude named Keyes, Sammy Keyes. Sammy is mysterious. He is like a spy dude. People think he is kind of weird, But they can't know for sure because he is mysterious! Sammy is trying to find snake eyes (dice) but you will have to read the book to find out why this is...

I read this book to my 3 sons, ages 13, 10, and 8. There were times they were all scared and times they didn't want me to stop reading to them because they had to know what happened next. What more could you ask for in a book? This mystery was dedicated to all people who fight terrorists, both big and small. It was written with 9/11 in mind, and, in my opinion, it is a tribute to all the heroes of 9/11. Sammy's inability to understand why any teenager would want to get mixed up in a gang offers the reader constant reminders on how bad gangs can be and how, once you're in, it's almost impossible to get out. In my opinion, this book should replace the novel called the Outsiders (about gang warfare written in the 60's) from middle school reading lists. It is a fresh, more modern view on the subject and better written). My boys and I have read every book in this series and can't wait until the next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesame book!, October 11, 2006
A Kid's Review
This was the first Sammy book that I read and I really enjoyed it. It's very exciting and is a real pageturner. It has you guessing until the end and is written very well. The characters are also very likable, especially Sammy, who stands up for herself to the popular kids.

Sammy is at the mall with her best friend Marissa when some stranger gives her a bag with a baby, because some scary guy is after her, "Snake Eyes" as Sammy calls him. Sammy has to sneak in to her Grams' apartment with the baby which is very hard to do. Then the girl disappears and Sammy is sure that Snake Eyes has something to do with it. Sammy is very brave and solves the mystery with help from her friends even though she often has softball practice because of the Junior Sluggers Cup. She also gets herself in very dagerous situatins but always manages to get herself out of them. Marissa and Sammy get also blamed on that they sprayed mean stuff on another school which is heathers's fault who made it look as if it were them when it really wasn't. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for an exciting book.

Wendelin van Draanen is a very good writer and I loved all the Sammy books that I have read yet. The books keep you coming back for more and I got some new ones and am very excited to read them. I hope they are as good as the other Sammy books! This book is very excitng, has a good plot and you never know the end. I give it five stars since this book is excellent. The series is one of my favorites and is very good. So I strongly recommend it to you and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

5.0 out of 5 stars Must read!!! Awesome book!, January 24, 2004

My teacher got me to read this book. It was so awesome. Sammy is into softball, and having adventures. On each adventure, she finds out something new to help her sovle a mystery. She was given a baby in the mall, but she doesn't who the mother is. The mother of the child told her to come back to the mall later that night, Sammy did, but the mother never showed up. Now Sammy Keyes is stuck with a baby and is trying to find the mother. If you haven't read any Sammy Keyes books before, then I suggest that you should read this book first. It's so interesting that you can't and don't want to put it down because you want to fing out what happens next. Wendelin Van Draanen is a great writer for kids. Check out her other books!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lunch Bunch Book Review 1, November 5, 2007
A Kid's Review
Sammy Keyes and the Search for Snake Eyes was a very good book. Wendelin Van Praanen writes good books for kids ages 10-14 years old. I am in seventh grade and I am 12 years old. This is a good book for kids who like adventure and mystery. It is also a good book if you want to learn more about gangs and grafiti. I liked it because it was a very fast paced action story.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sammy Keyes book report, January 14, 2003
A Kid's Review
I read Sammy Keyes and the Search for Snake Eyes. I thought this was a book with suspense because it was a mystery finding out who was Snake Eyes, who spray-painted the walls putting the blame on Sammy, how could they get the idea that they were stupid to spray paint their names so everybody could see that they spray-painted the walls. I think kids in 4th and 5th grade would like this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sammy Keyes is at it again!, March 17, 2003
A Kid's Review
Having recently read over this book, being an older student, I was reluctant to report on this book to my class because of it's childish stature. Fourtunately, after reading it, like so many of the other books written in the 'Sammy Keyes' series, it left me flabergasted. It's rather mature, and offers a great perspective on the lives of the streets and how hard it is to live in a poor environment and what effect it has on others. (Personally, reading this book alone would be enough to convince me to stay in school and get a good job). Sammy Keyes and her friend Marina are minding thier own business when a woman bumps into Sammy and exits after mumbling gibberish and leaving a bag-with a baby inside! Snake Eyes(as Sammy calls him) comes to hunt down the lady who left the baby, and Sammy is concerned. Besides the fact that it will be an even bigger problem crawling up the fire escape into her grandmothers' adults-only apartment complex with a baby; she is convinced this guy is out the get the woman who left the baby. A spine-tingly adventure begins and a frantic goose-chase turns deadly nearing the climax-but I guess you'll just have to find out for yourself.
Great book, I recommend it for kids ages 10-14
