Book Description

Sammy Seahorse Teaches Chess promises to be a worthy successor to Bloss' first book on chess, Chess at a Glance. Pre-publication reviewers described it as 'charming and clear.' Well over 100 three-dimensional views, computer-generated by Andrew Kensler, guide the reader, step-by-step, into the magical world of chess. Shelly Fischman's whimsical cartoons add to the flavor and appeal of this use-friendly, light-hearted introduction to the moves and strategies of chess.

Editorial Reviews

Review

Sammy Seahorse Teaches Chess is a well-written and effective chess teaching tool. For those members who are looking for a book to start a child on chess (i.e. Christmass or birthday gift for a child, grandchild, niece or nephew). I would definately recommend this book. --Ron Farrar, King's Korner, May-June 1996.

This review is from: Sammy Seahorse Teaches Chess: A Light-Hearted Introduction (Paperback)
I can't really review this book because I haven't read it! However, my seven year old grand-daughter became totally absorbed in it and taught her six year old brother to play chess! They abandoned all other games for chess during their entire visit at our house.
