This brief and well-illustrated book captivated my 8 year-old and me. Together we learned some basic crewel stitches, and my daughter went on to create a lovely yet simple miniature altar cloth for a book report about 'Josefina' from the American Girl Series. It remains a staple in the how-to section of our bookshelf. It's a wonderful way for a mother and child to spend time together reading, learning and stitching.
