Sampling (the removal of a small amount of material from a larger volume to test it for a desired characteristic) is important to industry in order to monitor the progress of a reaction or the quality (purity) of a product. To ensure that the sample is representative of the larger volume, certain procedures need to be followed in removing the sample and statistical interpretation of the data. Both of his books are usually purchased together. I have used this industrially, great for analytical and quality control. At times, depending on the amount of bulk product, it becomes necessary to make a series of measurements on a batch to truly arrive at a value that can be trusted. This shows you how to get good data for bulk and mass production samples.
