I highly recommend this book and also the follow-up "Teach yourself Advanced C in 21 days". With these two books, you shouldn't need any other basic C books. As a C programmer since the early 80's, I've found no better books.

I am a computer programmer in Nashville TN. I have learned everything I know about programming by reading books at home. I have never used a book for learning that taught as well as this book. It doesn't matter if you are a programming veteran or know absolutely nothing about programming, if you want to learn 'C' this is the place to start. I am currently employed as a 'C' programmer with just the knowledge I got from this book. After this book try the "Teach yourself Advanced C in 21 days" title.

This is the first programming book I have read. At every stage of the book it has clearly explained the current topic and the chapters flow nicely together. The author seems to have been able to get into the mind of the beginning C programmer, and answers all those nagging questions. Every question the book raises for me is answered. I am really enjoying this book, I like its style and approach, and best of all it is actually teaching me something. Well done.

An excellent text which explains C quite clearly. The authors' concise writing styles make it easy to understand. Difficult topics like pointers are given good explanations. Sample/practice problems with answers, and debugging exercises provide a practical way to test your knowledge.

The book begins with the basics and in a very organized way leads you to the advanced stuff. I was espessialy pleased with the fact that the book spent a lot of time discussing different techniques to do the same thing. If you're just getting in to c, this is a great book to do it with and it wont overwhelm you.

La version en español de este libro "Aprendiendo C en 21 dias" es un libro muy bueno para principiantes. Cuando lo adquirí, aprendí la escencia del C. A travez de sus capitulos tu puedes surcar los mares del poder en la programación. "Aprendiendo C en 21 dias" es un libro publicado por Prentice Hall en Mexico. Ojalá que este libro esté a la venta en Amazon.com.

Such as: functions, pointers, structures, unions, preprocessor directives, macros, multi-module projects, etc. This book contains thorough self-explanatory examples, to shepherd your quest to C/C++ subjugation (conquering), in a more simplistic form of linquestic cyphering, parallel to other compilations, and analogies of structural programming, based on mass-delusional ignorance, and the monopolistic shift of competitive professionalism.(oops) pseudo-professionalism (hehe).

Harvest the reapings, and vintage that this contemporary masterpiece of technological notation can bring to the depths of your soul! Save yourself from the amaranthine shackles of mediocrity, and self-loathing!
