3.0 out of 5 stars Quick, concise, and easy to understand, November 7, 1999

A very fast read. I bought this book as suggested by one of my professors. Within a few short reads I had a web page up and running. That web page has already won several awards. The book is a little lean and tends only to cover the need to know basics. Ideal for the beginner, too plain for the pro.

5.0 out of 5 stars great intro!, March 26, 2000
This review is from: Sams Teach Yourself HTML 4 in 10 Minutes (2nd Edition) (Paperback)
if you need to create a website and you need to do it NOW - no time to plow through the bigger books that you bought and planned to read one day - then this is the book for you! Great self-contained primer but also great intro for other books such as Sams teach yourself web publishing with HTML 4 in 21 days. But use this one first and do that website!

This is a good resource for a beginner. I use it at work too for quick reference but often find it lacking in terms of professional content. The book is true to what it was designed to do....get a beginner up and running.
