Does a good job isolating mic from vibrations short of a major earthquake. Simple to setup and use. Make sure you have something to screw it onto as it is not a complete stand system but only part of the system.

I ordered this to replace my Blue Bluebird Shock Mount which never tightened enough to hold the mic from day one. This is perfect. Good quality and fits the Bluebird just right.

Looks nice, works great. If you own an AT2020 microphone and want to use the Samson MD5 stand, you will need this item in order for it to work together. When you get your shock mount, the threads might not match up with the Samson MD5 stand. You might have a European version thread adapter installed. Use a penny or a dime and twist counter clock wise. The adapter will come out and you will now have the correct size.

I've now owned this for a couple years, using it with a Behringer C3 mic. It is an excellent shock mount with one exception, that is not necessarily a bad thing, depending on how you plan to use this.

The way that this mounts to your mic stand works great as long as you are using a vertical mic positioning, however is not friendly at all to a "hanging" style positioning, like one would see in a radio station, so this would likely not be the best option to use with a dynamic mic like the Rode pro/podcaster. If you are going to use one of those mics, I would recommend looking at the shockmount from Rode.

This arrived with a bent prong, but a little work with pliers fixed it easily. This is a strong shock mount that can hold some very heavy microphones without sagging. Very good product.

I am currently using the AT2020 USB Microphone and it fits very well! It absorbs any weird vibrations from the table and extends to you nicely. Here are some images with the AT2020 and the Samson SP01 Spider Shockmount.

I also use the MXL WS-001: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001ECQONU/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_1
