A funny Chisel,
By Gavin (Reno, NV) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Samson Syndrome: What You Can Learn from the Baddest Boy in the Bible (Paperback)
Wow! what an awkward name for a book. but it really is kinda like that. A summary of this book is the 12 things that can drag a man down in his leadership in the home, in Church, and his relationship with God. (In my eyes.) These 12 points are taken from the character of Samson, and his weak personality traits that led him to his undoing.Mixed in as well are some rather humorous stories, and some hard hitting ones as well. Not only this, but the pages of this book are backed up by scripture (be wary of the Christian book that doesnt!) I would suggest this book for anyone who is tired of falling in the same sins, that seem stuck, or just want to be better men (or women) I remember reading this for the first time, and then after I was done with a chapter, I had to go, "Wow God, is this me?" It was a true growing experience, and even now when I read it, I get cool new stuff. Good book.

Little attention is being paid to this Book...,

This review is from: The Samson Syndrome: What You Can Learn from the Baddest Boy in the Bible (Paperback)
right now....But I wholeheartedly recommend all Christians pick this one up..men and women alike. It's true Atteberry has a style of writing that grabs the readers attention. In the same style as Lucado, he is able to relate on all levels and all experiences we have in this life and tie it into the experiences the scriptures show happened before. What can also be felt though this book are the Leadership undertones essential in anyone who leads or manages people. I am currently recommending it to Managers in my place of work...Christian and non Christian alike...Pick it up...it's hard to put down! YBIC

I feel this book is very interesting in that it offers insight and direction concerning the thoughts and behavior of men. It offers a God center showing that there is a way to avoid the pitfalls that many of us often blindly fall into. Great reading, insight and challenging.

A thoroughly "user friendly" self-help book for Christians,

This review is from: The Samson Syndrome: What You Can Learn from the Baddest Boy in the Bible (Paperback)
The Samson Syndrome by Mark Atteberry (Minister at Poinciana Christian Church) is a thoroughly "user friendly" self-help book for Christians (especially Christian Men), concerning the lessons that can be learned from the Strongest Man of Biblical Old Testament lore. Cautioning against errors common to the strong (including the tendency to use anger as a tool, take too much for granted, or lose sight of the big picture), The Samson Syndrome is profound in both its universally applicable advice and in its encouragement of a Christian faith in God.

This is an amazing & powerful book for men. Right from the first chapter it gets you thinking about who you are as a man & how lusting after something that you're not suppose to have gets you in trouble. I recommend this book to all the men out there who are chasing after the wind.

This is a book that my wife read first and she said she finally understood how I think. Once I read it I understood heat she was talking about with the book. If there was an opportunity to put 6 stars I would.

Very applicable to young men today. Read it and work on your own weaknesses. I use it for Bible lessons and have passed it on to friends to read.

This is an easy read with a lot of great points. The parallels between the story of Samson and the challenges we all face in modern day life bear both consideration and thought.
