After an absolutely horrible experience with the Samsonite X'ion 2 Spinner Tote 16", I turned to this bag, which solves the main problem -- instability -- of the other one.

The tradeoff is that it has a good deal less packing space, perhaps because of the configuration. It also has a laptop sleeve which is entirely useless for someone like me who carries a good laptop bag (Brenthaven Pro 15.4-17 Shoulder Case for MacBook Pro and Powerbook 15.4-17" - this thing is really wonderful, down to the zippers).

I doubt that this bag will work for long because of the lightweight zippers, but for now it's adequate.

I have beat the living crap out of this bag for the last two and a half years and am finally buying another one just like it. The material, finish, zippers are all in great shape but I think the bearings are going out on the wheels so it's time for a replacement. I travel typically 2-3 days at a stretch, both domestic and international, about 50-70% of every work week, and this case has been at my side the whole way. I even pulled up my 2009 expense report to make sure I purchase the same model again. I can typically fit 3 days worth of business clothes along with gym clothes and shoes, no problem- though I am a relatively small female so all my things are smaller than average! This is a great buy for someone making a lot of short business trips.

I like the size, interior space and functionality of design. laptop may be carried but does not encumber space for clothing and other essentials.
