I just received this Attache, It was in perfect condition and I received it super fast! The photos do not do it justice. It looks much better in real. Very well made but then again samsonite has had some practice..LOL I'm in N. Iraq and needed a good case for my laptop. I have an HP HDX 16 and it fits in fine, but you only will have about 3/4 of an inch on either side. It was also a lot lighter then I thought it would be. I gave it 4 stars vs. 5 because they say up to 17" laptops, thought I'd have room for a few more items. Over-all opinion is it's Awsome and I got a great deal!

There is nothing more attractive and eye-catching than a metal briefcase. I ride a motorcycle and need a sturdy case for my 17" laptop. The quality is superb, as most things from Samsonite. The aluminum is smooth and the handle has a wonderful feel to it. The case is ultra light, so you don't really feel the weight. The locks are a bit cheap, so if you actually plan to use them, they could have been built a bit better. They still work and do the job though. There is a main compartment for papers, books, magazines or a laptop, and then on the top half is a traditional pen, PDA and important documents holder/filer. Couldn't be happier.

The attache is supposed to be gray, as said in the description and as pictured, yet what I received has a bluish darker color. It is not remotely as cool as what is pictured. I wanted a silvery-gray color like shown, this actually means a LOT to me.

Construction is okay, but its not very pleasant to unlock it as the locking mechanism makes a loud noise everytime you press the buttons to open - this is very annoying and distracting.

I will be returning for refund, unless they have the color that they actually describe and show in the picture.

So, I actually purchased the Samsonite expandable attache but once I got it I realized that it wasn't for laptops. Amazon has a great return policy so that was easy and then I purchased this one. A bit small if you want to carry every accessory known to man but if you want a very solid place to put your laptop, power supply, mouse, pens, business cards, paper pads and a couple other small things then this is a great option.

I don't know about the other reviewers--or maybe Amazon has changed the pics--but the color seems to be spot on to what I have. Plus, very solid and very nice locks.

Funny story: I changed my combination but then it wouldn't open. So I wondered "Did I mess up or is there a briefcase malfunction?"
Well, after going through 600+ combinations I proved it was human error!

BTW, don't think the locks will keep someone out for very long. If you are fast you can go through 1000 combinations in a few hours--but it is great for keeping people from quickly snooping in your stuff.

one of the best purchases I have made in a long time. Durability and appearance are worth every penny i paid. Over the road drives, bus drives, and short haul drives this is your Attache case you've been looking for. Small exterior and roomy interior with the business sophistication look your looking for. It's an Awesome steal for the price.

This is a beautiful attache! Very trendy, yet professional looking. I don't use it for my laptop, it carries books and paperwork and does a wonderful job. You can adjust the 2 dividers inside to your liking. Hinges are tight so the bag and its contents won't be flying out anytime soon. The pictures of the attache seem to be overly lit, as I would say it's more "pewter" than gray. I love this bag!

Loved the price and the majority of the product. I am a contractor and this briefcase will take a beating -- don't know about its durability yet but will write another review 6 months down the road. Interior is perfect for my bs. with the dividers and "roominess". Only negative is the latches. Surprised at Samsonite -- latches are hard to shut, had to develope a technique to do it at all. Once I had the technique I can work it. Why can't they make a latch that works easily and clicks shut firmly?

I purchased this for my son who travels with the Military. Excellent product for airline travel. Shipped as promised.

I really like the way the case looked on the net and so I asked for it as a gift, I thought it would look even more awesome and what a great deal that something listed at $280 was available at the price.

Sadly, the case just is not built that well--not terrible but I would feel horrible if I paid 280 for it. By the way it was listed in the high 50 dollar range around X-mas. It feels thin and cheap. The color is darker than pictured--though this is of minimal importance.

The real downside for me is that it is too small. My 15 inch laptop and power cord BARELY fit. It will fit a small laptop comfortably but as for a medium or large laptop (the size it advertises)--you will need to spend some time adjusting things to so that with the power cable you can close the lid. Even more difficult it you want to carry around anything else like papers in the top folder or an accessory like a mouse, laptop stand, or laptop keyboard.

I do have some use for it--but my cheaper and much less attractive has this ting beat hands down.

Very pleased with the 17" Attache case. Good quality and workmanship. Will not have a problem buying another one when I need it or showing it to my frends incase they want one too !
