The snaps on the belt broke in less than a week on the first. Samsonite is known for its quality, but this product is worthless

The plastic buckle undoes itself. Find something else because this product does not work.

I purchased this item for a trip to Russia and was surprised when the plastic buckle snapped before I left JFK. The compartments are nice and I managed to rig it together for a while but ultimately its poor craftsmanship got the best of me. I might as well have stuck money in my boot.

Great capacity, slim and funcionality, but sometime the clipper holding the belt around your body is unlocked himself. Overall good

The money belt is a good size. It has two compartments one of which is big enough to hold letters, and the other one is passport size. This is convenient because those are precisely the things you might want to protect when you are traveling.

Unfortunately, the belt clip is too thin, and it opens quite easily. If you are using it under jeans or some other hard fabric it will get pressed accidentally which is annoying.

I've used my Samsonite Money Belt for two years now and it is just fine. I haven't had any problems with the buckle that others are complaining about. I've used it for extended periods of time (4-6 weeks) and it has held up very well.

I'd give it 5 stars except for two minor things. First the strap occasionally needs to be re-tightened. My hips are big enough that it doesn't slide down, but I could see it causing discomfort for someone more linear if the strap loosened a bit while wearing.

Second is that the material is a hint too stiff. It makes my pants bulge out a little. It's not bad and not overly noticeable, but perhaps one of the silk belts would be even more discreet.

Update: 5 years later and I just finished a long trip with the belt. It is still in good condition and working well. I am happy.

This product does not live up to the Samsonite name. First of all, it did not stay buckled, which kind of defeats the whole purpose of wearing a money belt. I mean the "money" belt won't do a traveler much good if it comes unbuckled and slips from underneath his shirt and onto the ground without the traveler even knowing it has done so. I was lucky when mine came unbuckled because I had my shirt tucked in.

The material is also too thick and heavy, making it too hot and very uncomfortable. And finally, after two or three uses the cheap, plastic buckle broke. If you're a serious traveler, this product is not for you. Buyer beware.

Good idea. But all the zippers have come off and I need a new one already.

I looked at this on Amazon but ended up buying it at my local JCPenney's. I wore it for 10 days in Italy. It fits well around your waist even if you don't wear loose pants. (I am 32 years old, 5'2" and 120 lbs). At times I did feel like I looked a little pregnant with the small bulge, but I don't think anyone besides me or my husband would notice. I didn't have any problems with the clip like other reviewers and it held two passports and some cash with room to spare. It wasn't hot either, I barely knew I had it on.

although buckle is hard to detach it never came apart on me. although we bought ours 7 years ago.
