Product was fine. In a product like this, there is nothing to rave about as long as it works! What I can say is that this turned out to be the ONLY grounded UK-compatible plug I was able to find on short notice online. All the others had pictures (not just on Amazon; on Radio Shack, etc) that made them LOOK grounded ... but the "third" prong on all of them was actually plastic, and therefore not functional. That's fine for many products that have only two-prong plugs, but I had a couple of devices that really do need their ground (or "earth" as they call it in Britain) and this plug filled that need.

This Samsonite adapter was perfect for our trip to Ireland. It was small and light, in addition to being grounded. All the hotels and B&B's in Ireland have hair dryers, but I needed to make sure my camera batteries were always recharged, so this product was great. It was durable, but not big and bulky like some of those all-in-one adapters. Great product.

I have traveled quite a bit and this adapter plug was first rate. You might be able to find it cheaper once you arrive in the UK, but the quality of this one will be noticeably superior. Definitely recommend.

I purchased three of these and within a few months of use, two have short circuited. Not entirely sure what the problem is.

I am in London now. I purchased 3 of these for this trip based on the reviews, and am now SOOO glad I did not buy the cheaper ones. First of all, they work. I've had no problems charging my laptop, MP3 player, cell phone etc. I'm using a standard US 3-outlet multiplier plugged into one of them for charging smaller items. Today (as can happen with these older buildings in England) a fuse blew. When the power came back up, we discovered that my sister's adapter (a different brand) was fried. But worse, it had also fried the charger/plug for her MacBook, resulting in a trip to Harrod's (the only place nearby open after 6 PM) and a new $80 charger for her computer (which she won't be able to use at home without buying a UK->US adapter). My laptop was plugged into one of these adapters at the time and the adapter, and more importantly, my laptop and laptop charger are just fine. If you consider the risk of fried electronics, these are well worth the difference between $10 and the adapters that sell for $2.

I bought two of these adaptor plugs and they worked as expected during our trip to Ireland. They are quality products, well built, with three metal grounded plugs. Worth the extra money for peace of mind since I was running my laptop off of it during the week.

I bought several of these for a family trip to Ireland. They worked awesome.

I used it for my laptop and to charge camera batteries. They held up well and I never felt like it was bad to have. My one worry when getting these was using it for high-priced electronics and they worked very well for me.

I would highly recommend these for trips.

I was traveling from the United States to London England and needed to make sure I could charge my electronics. I chose Sampsonite because I have always had a good experience with their products and this particular item received perfect reviews.

It will convert a United States male 3-prong (Type-B) or 2-prong (Type-A) plug into a United Kingdom male 3-prong (Type-G) connector. It is a very high quality adapter and can handle a little abuse. It will not break from plugging and unplugging items.

The device is only a physical adapter and not a actual power converter. Make sure any device you plug into it will convert automatically to 220V/50Hz when using in England otherwise your device will be destroyed. I never had the problem because my computer, cellphone, digital camera, electric shaver, and bluetooth headphones all converted without issue.

This device does exactly what I needed it to do and it's high quality enough to use on several trips. Consider getting multiple items so you can simultaneously charge multiple items in your hotel.

I had previously purchased a "kit" from The Sharper Image and it burned up within minutes of the first use. I ordered 4 of these Samsonite Grounded Adaptor Plugs for our latest trip to the UK. The Samsonite grounded adaptors worked perfectly with all the electronics we used. If you're going to the UK and want to use your current hair dryer & curling irons, razors, etc., this adaptor will work without flaw. Plus, no extra added "surprise" shipping charges!

This is one of the few UK->USA adapters that actually has a real ground/earth connection, as is desired by laptop computer power supplies (for safety and EMC reasons). It is well built and works perfectly in the UK :-)

My family took two of these to London recently, and both worked flawlessly with every kind of U.S. plug we had. The flat we rented had a couple adapters, too, but they didn't work at all or didn't work with all our plugs. (Hard to believe that a product as simple as an adapter could be made so poorly it wouldn't work!) The Samsonite adapters were a little more expensive, but for a few bucks who wants to waste time in London on a faulty adapter?
